In Kelp: Shark vs. Octopus , predator and camouflage compete in the South African kelp forest. One on one, two souls of the sea: the Pyjama Shark patrols, sniffs, strikes; the Common Octopus It dissolves into shadows and currents, deceives and survives. Hide and seek meets bluff and manipulation; deck-building and dice bag-building intertwine in a lethal dance.
Each creature has a path to victory: the Octopus plays cards, manages hidden/revealed blocks and devours seafood; the Shark explores with mitigatable dice rolls and special abilities to flush out prey. Three possible endings, zero certainties: attack , resist , or feast .

A duel in the depths
In Kelp, two players face off in a unique ecosystem: the South African kelp forest. On one side is the common octopus, a master of deception and camouflage; on the other, the pyjama shark, a ruthless predator hell-bent on hunting down its prey.
The Octopus and the Art of Deception
The octopus uses a deck of cards to move stealthily, managing face-down and face-up tiles that simulate their ability to disguise themselves. The goal is to survive, bluff, and exploit resources to outwit the shark.
The shark and the predatory instinct
Whoever controls the shark patrols the territory and uses a bag of dice to hunt. Using rolls and special abilities, they try to locate and hit the octopus, mitigating their luck with powers that reflect their natural determination.
Deck-building and dice-bag building
The game's strength lies in the union of two souls: the octopus enriches his deck with new cards, while the shark upgrades his bag of dice. Each choice shapes the gameplay style and opens up opportunities for bluffing, deduction, and plot twists.
Three ways to win
The game ends when the shark successfully attacks the octopus, or when the octopus survives until the shark is exhausted, or if the octopus consumes all four shellfish. At the bottom of the kelp, only one will emerge victorious.

The other patrols its kingdom ferociously, sniffing the water for every movement. It is the Shark , pure strength, constant hunger.

Every turn is a held breath. Every card played is a subtle strategy, every die rolled an invisible blow.

The Octopus plays with stealth, cards, and area management , blending into the map and trying to collect seafood to feed themselves or escape until the enemy is exhausted. The Shark, on the other hand, relies entirely on dice, special abilities, and territorial control , sniffing out every movement, ready to pounce.
The mechanics of deck-building, bag-building, hidden movement, and variable powers blend into a tactical symphony that rewards those who can read their opponent before they're discovered. It's a perfect title for those looking for tense, deep, but never boring games. And yes, it plays in under an hour. But it stays with you for days.
