FroGames — Moments You'll Remember
Move a worker, build a level, think two turns ahead. Then you realize your opponent was thinking three.
What it's about
Two rules, a thousand different games
Santorini was created in 1985 by mathematician Gordon Hamilton. Roxley Games made it a phenomenon in 2016, and now it returns with the 2025 Second Edition: rebalanced gods, refined miniatures, improved buildings, readable iconography without needing to consult the rulebook.
You control two workers on a 5×5 grid. Each turn: move one and build next to it. The first player to reach the third level wins — or the one who leaves their opponent with no legal moves. Within this crystal-clear simplicity lie spatial calculations reminiscent of chess, with 32 gods changing the rules and creating endlessly varied matchups.
The Second Edition retains everything that made Santorini one of the most beloved abstract games ever — but refines it where needed. It's the perfect game for those seeking depth without complications, for couples, for introducing non-gamer friends, for impromptu post-dinner tournaments.
What they say abroad
"The end result of all this is a tense, quick, approachable game that rewards both long-term planning and short-term tactical flexibility."
The result is a tense, quick, and accessible game that rewards both long-term planning and tactical flexibility.
— Meeple Mountain
The rules can be explained in 30 seconds. The first game you lose will make you want to try again immediately — this time really thinking.
Santorini's secret in one line
Santorini: Second Edition
Your arsenal
What you control in each game
2 sculpted workers
Your two miniature pawns. Each turn you move one worker one space and build next to it. Positioning them well is half the game.
3D white buildings
Bases, levels, and blue domes rise from the grid like a real Greek island. The scenery becomes a battlefield.
32 Greek gods
From Apollo to Medusa, from Athena to Minotaur. Each god changes a rule — and transforms the game. Iconography redesigned for the Second Edition.
4 mode cards
Quick game, balanced match, drafting, team challenge. Choose how to structure the challenge before you start.
Thirty years of refinement in a game that takes half a minute to explain. Santorini is the best test to understand if an opponent truly thinks.
