FroGames — Moments You'll Remember
Someone arranges the orange tabby near the window. Someone else places the vintage armchair in the perfect corner. By the end of the third round, nobody is talking about scores: they're talking about that customer with the tie who wanted three black cats.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT
Your perfect cat café, one tile at a time
Designed by Sam and Shahin Rostami (designer and artist duo), Cozy Cat Cafe brings tile placement to an unexpectedly relaxing setting: manage a place where customers come to enjoy the company of cats. Sam Rostami's art design creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, where each board becomes a small visual story.
Each game is a competition to create the most attractive café: you adopt cats by paying with biscuits, buy furniture with coins, and invite customers who reward you with resources and victory points. The heart of the game lies in strategic placement: cats have special abilities, furniture creates ambiance, and customers seek specific combinations. Three rounds of nine turns each to build perfect combos and maximize the atmosphere.
What they say abroad
A relaxing puzzle that hides surprisingly tense choices.

Every café tells a different story. Visually and strategically.

Cozy Cat Cafe
Solo mode integrated into the core rules with dedicated objectives and a progressive scoring system. The puzzle experience is complete; only the competition for customers, which adds tension to timing choices in multiplayer, is missing.
What you put in your café
The pieces of your perfect place
Cat Cards
Each cat has a unique ability that activates when you place it. Some attract specific customers, others modify resources, and still others create combos with nearby furniture.
Furniture Tiles
Sofas, coffee tables, plants, windows. Each piece of furniture costs coins but generates ambiance if placed strategically. Ambiance means direct victory points and unlocks bonuses.
Customer Cards
Each customer looks for something specific in your café: combinations of cats, furniture patterns, ambiance levels. Satisfy them to earn resources and points.
Game Objectives
16 different objective tiles: bonuses for those who achieve certain configurations first. They completely change the strategy from one game to another.
In a few rounds, you'll have a café that tells your strategy. And you'll discover that you immediately want to build another, different one.

A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
The empty board
Everyone looks at their completely blank 5x5 grid. The first choices seem simple: get a cat, buy cheap furniture, invite the first customer. Then someone reads the common objectives aloud, and the "wait, if I do this..." moments begin.
The first patterns
Halfway through the first round, and each cafe begins to take shape. Someone goes all in on black cats to attract wealthy clients. Someone else creates a plant-filled corner to maximize ambiance. Strategies visibly diverge.
The customer race
Second round, resources are scarce. Everyone wants the same customer with the tie who is worth huge points if you have three specific cats. Who invites them first? Tension rises, turns slow down, someone changes strategy halfway through because they saw a better opportunity.
The perfect combo
Third round, last available turn. Someone activates a cat ability that triggers a chain reaction: they get resources, buy furniture, place the furniture, attract a customer, the customer gives them ambiance points, unlocks an objective. Everyone at the table goes "ohhh".
Counting the atmosphere
End of game: customer points, ambiance points, objective bonuses are tallied. Scores are surprisingly close. Someone wins by three points thanks to a piece of furniture placed in turn two that no one had noticed. Everyone wants to play again immediately with different objectives.
How to play
The flow of each turn
Three rounds of nine turns each. Each turn is a choice between three actions.
Adopt a cat (costs cookies), buy furniture (costs coins), or invite a customer (free, but gives you resources and points). Only one action per turn.
If you've adopted a cat or bought furniture, place it on your 5x5 board. Placement is everything: cats and furniture interact with what's around them.
Some cats have immediate abilities when they enter. Some customers immediately check your cafe and reward you if you meet their demands. Combos resolve in a cascade.
After nine turns, the round ends. Some cards are reshuffled, and availabilities are updated. Whoever achieved certain objectives first gets bonuses. Then it starts again.
Why it's different from others
Six mechanics that make a difference
16 variable objectives
Each game uses a different set of bonus objectives. It's not enough to build a beautiful cafe: you need to adapt to what this specific game rewards. There's no single dominant strategy.
Activatable cat abilities
Cats are not just decoration. Each has a unique power that triggers when you place it or when certain conditions are met. Building ability combos is the heart of advanced play.
Ambiance as a resource
Ambiance is not just a theme: it's a layered scoring mechanic. The more you generate, the more bonuses you unlock. But it costs resources to create. Balancing ambiance and customers is the main tension.
Dual currency economy
Cookies for cats, coins for furniture. Resources don't convert easily between each other. You need to plan which economic flow to prioritize based on your strategy.
Customers as a motor
Inviting customers is free but has an opportunity cost: you lose a turn by not adopting cats or buying furniture. However, customers give you resources for subsequent turns. Timing is everything.
Concrete spatial grid
It's not abstract tile placement: the 5x5 grid truly represents the layout of your cafe. Cats near windows, sofas next to tables, visual patterns that also make narrative sense.
How it ends
How to win
After three rounds (27 turns total), victory points are tallied.
Victory
- Points from satisfied customers (each customer is worth fixed points plus bonuses for your configurations)
- Ambiance points accumulated during the game (furniture and combos generate atmosphere)
- Objective bonuses: whoever achieves certain patterns first gets extra points
How to fall behind
- Ignoring common objectives: leaves huge points on the table
- Wasting resources without a plan: cookies and coins must be managed carefully
- Placing cats and furniture without thinking about synergies: combos make the difference between victory and defeat
Cozy Cat Cafe is accessible strategy with hidden depth. Perfect for those looking for a game that invites replayability, with an aesthetic that makes you want to photograph the board at the end of the game.
Frequently asked questions
FAQ about Cozy Cat Cafe
How important is the solo mode?
Very well integrated. The game includes official solo rules with dedicated objectives and a progressive scoring system. The puzzle experience is complete, only lacking the customer competition that adds tension in multiplayer. If you often play alone, it really works.
Is it suitable for people who are not board game experts?
Yes, with a caveat. The basic rules are simple (choose action, place tile, activate effects), but the space of possibilities grows quickly. After the first warm-up game, even beginners start to see the combos. Ideal as a gateway to more complex games.
Is the 30-90 minute duration realistic?
It depends on the number of players and their experience. For 1-2 experienced players, 30-45 minutes. For 4-5 players in their first game, it tends towards 75-90 minutes. The flow is fast once you know the cards, but each turn requires spatial decisions that slow down new players.
Do the 16 variable objectives really change the game?
Absolutely. They are not marginal bonuses: they are strong incentives that completely shift priorities. One game rewards black cat patterns, the next grouped furniture, the third pure ambiance. It's impossible to always use the same strategy.
Is the game available in Italian?
This edition is in English. The texts on the cards (cat abilities, customer requests) require knowledge of the language. The rulebook is clear but in English. It is not language-independent.
