In Cities , by Steve Finn and published by Devir , you become the architect of a new city district. Houses, offices, parks, and relaxation areas: you decide where to build, how to expand, and which elements to place to get the most points. In just eight rounds (or four with two players), you'll have to combine urban aesthetics, objective scores, and bonuses to be achieved with meticulous placement. The result? A city all your own, and the feeling of having made it truly livable.
Tile placement and drafting mechanics blend with the construction of multi-story buildings and the optimization of scores based on parks, waterfronts, and urban areas. Each game takes you to a different city: New York, Barcelona, Venice, Sydney, and many more, with an elegant visual design and ruleset perfect even for casual players. 🐸 COME SI GIOCA
1. Build your city with tiles
Each player has a personal board on which they will build their city. Each turn, a tile is revealed (the same for everyone), which you must place on your board, trying to fit it together as best as possible.
2. Follow the positioning rules and plan
The tiles represent different types of neighborhoods: commercial, residential, green, cultural… You must respect certain placement rules and, above all, aim for synergies between types of areas.
3. Every decision matters (and you can't go back)
The game is based on perfect information : everyone receives the same tiles, in the same order. There's no luck: whoever plans best wins. Any wrong choice can jeopardize the final bonuses.
4. Complete objectives and combos to maximize points
You'll earn points for completing zones, specific patterns, well-connected green areas, and for completing game objectives. Some objectives change from game to game to vary the challenge.
