Corps of Discovery: A Game Set in the World of Manifest Destiny

Jay Cormier announces the Kickstarter campaign for Corps of Discovery Ultimate Edition II and the new cooperative spin-off Duo, coming February 17th.

Following the huge success that saw the Ultimate Edition sell out and the game appear on over 15 top games of 2025 lists , designer Jay Cormier has announced major news for the world of Corps of Discovery . A new Kickstarter campaign will launch on February 17 , bringing with it an enhanced reprint and an entirely new title.

The campaign will introduce Corps of Discovery Duo , a new two-player cooperative game. Unlike the original exploration-based title, in this version, players will have to cooperatively build a map .

Regarding the Ultimate 2nd Edition of the base game, the Off the Page Games team has been working hard to address the issues reported by the community. It has been confirmed that fix-it packs will be made available (some free, some at a very reasonable price) to allow owners of the first edition to upgrade their copy. Here are the main technical improvements listed by Cormier:

1. Completely revised rules : Recognizing the difficulties with the original manual, the new edition will feature cleaned up and much clearer rules.

2. New storage solution : The first edition insert, while theoretically interesting, proved impractical and was replaced with a functional solution.

3. Card Duplication : Challenge and Destiny cards will be duplicated for each chapter. You'll no longer need to sort specific incoming and outgoing cards; simply open the box for the desired chapter and have everything you need ready to use.

4. Component Improvements : Several physical tweaks have been made, including flat-top shelters to make it easier to place monster or resource tokens, new graphics for the map concealer (to prevent it from being accidentally thrown away), and larger Minotaur tokens to better fit into the map holes.
