Open the first pack. Inside are cards you didn't know, rules that change everything, a story that branches. Finish the campaign. Reset the cards. Play it again to discover the other ending. It's not a legacy: it's a campaign that can be preserved.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT
The second campaign for an evolving card engine
Leisure & Decadence is the second campaign expansion for It's a Wonderful World, designed by Frédéric Guérard and Benoit Bannier, illustrated by Anthony Wolff. Originally available only through Kickstarter alongside Corruption & Ascension, it is now available separately. It includes 6 progressive scenarios enclosed in packs to be opened in sequence, 5 secret boxes with hidden components, 166 new cards, and 2 Heritage Boosters to customize the experience.
At the table, you develop your empire through simultaneous drafting and engine building, but this time each scenario introduces new rules, unique cards, and narrative decisions that lead to two different endings. It's not a legacy: after completing the campaign, you can reset the cards and replay it to explore the other ending. All components remain usable in the base game once revealed.
What they say abroad
A campaign that can be played, reset, and replayed to discover both endings. An expansion that adds stories without destroying anything.

It's a Wonderful World: Leisure & Decadence
The base game already supports solo play with dedicated rules, and the campaign works great solo: each scenario adapts to the player count and the narrative experience is complete. You lose the interaction of multiplayer drafting, but gain total control over the building of your empire across the 6 scenarios.
What you find inside
166 cards and 5 boxes to discover
6 Scenario Packs
Each pack introduces a new scenario with special rules, new cards, and narrative decisions. They are opened in sequence: you cannot go back, but you can reset everything and replay.
5 Secret Boxes
27 hidden components that unlock during the campaign. Some change the rules, others add permanent cards. Each box is a micro-event that turns the table.
166 New Cards
Developments, resources, unique projects. All usable in the base game once revealed. These are not single-use cards: the campaign enriches the collection forever.
2 Heritage Boosters
Legacy cards that you customize during the campaign and then remain in the pool. Each group builds their own version of the campaign through these permanent choices.

How to play
The flow of each round
Leisure & Decadence does not change the core of It's a Wonderful World: it adds scenarios and stories on top of the same elegant engine.
You draw 7 cards, choose one, pass the rest to your neighbor. Repeat until all cards are chosen. Build your hand with your empire and the scenario's special rules in mind.
Choose which cards to develop immediately and which to put into construction. Each card costs specific resources: if you don't have them, the card goes underneath and waits for subsequent turns.
Your completed cards generate resources. Those resources complete other cards under construction. The engine is self-sustaining: the more you build, the more you produce, the more you build again.
If the scenario conditions are met, open secret envelopes or boxes. Add new rules or components. Then the next draft begins until the end of the game.

A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
Open the envelope
Read the new scenario rules. Something has changed: perhaps there are different resources, perhaps an additional victory condition. Shuffle the new cards into the deck. The campaign starts here, but the engine you know is still the same.
The first draft
You draw 7 cards, choose one, pass the others. Some cards have new symbols: you don't know what they mean yet, but you intuit they will matter later. Build the engine as always, but with an eye on the special rules.
Unlock a secret box
A scenario condition is activated. Open one of the 5 mysterious boxes: inside are components that change something. Perhaps a new resource, perhaps a permanent event. Everyone stops, you read it together. The game evolves.
The engine runs at full throttle
Your empire produces resources in a chain. The new cards combine with those from the base game: some synergies that didn't exist before now work. You are winning the scenario, but the story makes you choose: which ending do you want to explore?
Scenario end, not campaign end
Score counts, someone wins. But the campaign continues: you mark which ending you chose, open the next envelope. Or you reset everything and play again to explore the other path. The 166 cards remain in the game forever.

Three honest things
Requires the base game
Leisure & Decadence is a pure expansion: it cannot be played on its own. You need the base It's a Wonderful World, with all its cards and mechanics. If you don't have it, this box is useless. The campaign adds scenarios and content on top of the existing system, it doesn't replace it.
Short but replayable campaign
6 scenarios might seem few, but each significantly modifies the game. The real value is in the double ending: the campaign branches, and you have to replay it to explore both paths. It's not a 12-15 game legacy: it's a 6+6 experience, plus all the standard games you'll play later with the 166 integrated cards.
Low interaction
As in the base game, interaction is indirect: simultaneous drafting, no direct attacks, zero take-that. If you're looking for conflict or tabletop chaos, this is not the game. The action is in building your empire, not in destroying others'.
🏆Victory and defeatWhat the ending rewards▼
How it ends
How to win and how to lose
Each scenario has specific objectives, but the final campaign victory depends on which narrative path you chose.
Victory
- Complete the objectives of the active scenario (development points, specific resources, built cards)
- Reach the end of the campaign and unlock one of the two possible endings
- Accumulate more points than other players in the final scoring of each scenario
Defeat (relative)
- Finish a scenario with fewer points than others (but the campaign continues)
- Do not complete the hidden objectives that unlock special events or endings
- Choose one narrative path and miss the other ending (until you reset everything)
This is a campaign that does not consume the game: it enriches it. You finish the 6 scenarios, reset, replay for the other ending, then integrate everything into the base game. The 166 cards remain. Forever.

FAQ about It's a Wonderful World: Leisure & Decadence
Is the base game absolutely necessary?
Yes, it is mandatory. Leisure & Decadence is a pure expansion: it adds scenarios, cards, and components on top of the base It's a Wonderful World. Without the original game, you cannot play. You must already have the base deck, empire boards, resource cubes, and all the mechanics of the original game.
Can I play it multiple times or is it a legacy game that gets destroyed?
You can play it infinitely: nothing is destroyed. After completing the 6 scenarios with one ending, you can reset the cards and replay to discover the other ending. All components remain intact and usable in the base game. You don't tear cards, you don't write on components: it's a replayable campaign.
What mechanics does It's a Wonderful World: Leisure & Decadence use?
The same as the base game: simultaneous open drafting (choose a card, pass the rest), engine building (build cards that produce resources to build other cards), resource planning. The expansion adds scenario / mission / campaign: each envelope introduces special narrative rules and objectives, and the campaign branches into two different endings.
Does it work well solo?
Yes, very well. It's a Wonderful World has official solo rules already in the base game, and each campaign scenario adapts to the player count. The narrative experience is complete even solo: you lose the interaction of multiplayer drafting (in solo you choose from multiple decks), but engine building and unlocking secret content work perfectly.
Is it available in Italian?
This edition is in English. It includes 166 cards with text, 6 scenario envelopes with English instructions, and secret boxes with English components and rules. A good understanding of the language is needed to play the campaign: each scenario introduces narrative rules and choices that need to be read and interpreted.
