Mutagen is a strategic board game (1–4) set in a 1920s biopunk universe where the Industrial Revolution found… something it wasn't supposed to find. The Great Shard has rewritten the laws of nature, and now you are one of the Mutagen: a candidate to succeed the Keeper before his unnaturally long reign ends.
At the table, you immediately sense that rare mix: environmental horror , twisted science, and pure ambition. You're not just "optimizing": you're choosing how far to push your evolution , what compromises to make, and when to become truly dangerous. Every decision is one more mutation... and one less path for those in front of you.
Here, power isn't bought: it's cultivated. And sometimes... it cultivates you.
The heart: “double-level” worker placement
The engine is a customizable worker placement : you have four workers, but they are not interchangeable. Each placement activates the location's action and adds an extra effect related to the worker's color , so the "where" matters... but so does the "who."
And while others read the map, you build your own advantage: biological upgrades that change the way you play and make you increasingly difficult to contain.
