FroGames — Moments You'll Remember
Nine promos gathered in one box set. The dragon village has never been so lively.
What it's about
All Flamecraft promos, finally together
Since Flamecraft conquered tables worldwide with its artisan dragons and enchanted shops, Cardboard Alchemy has released a series of exclusive promotional packs — each with new shops, dragons, or unique items capable of changing the pace of the game.
Dragons of the Past collects all nine promos released to date in one package. Alternate Starter Shops, The Spice Tower, Flamestarter Statue, Lucky Lake, Cosmic Scale, Stuff the Magic Dragon, The Rare Medium, Space Craft, and Freshscale Artisan Dragons: each piece brings something new to your dragon city.
Requires the Flamecraft base game to use. It is not a standalone expansion — it is the definitive completion for those who already love the game and want to take it further.
Each promo adds a new variable to the city — an unexpected shop, an unseen dragon, an item that changes your strategy mid-game.
The secret of Dragons of the Past in one line
Nine different game sessions with the same game you know and love. The village reinvents itself every time you open the pack.
From the gaming experience
Flamecraft: Dragons of the Past
With the promos, the solo mode gains new objectives and special shops — each run is a different puzzle.
What it contains
Nine promos, one box set
Each pack brings a different mechanical novelty. Together they transform every game into a new experience.
Alternate Starter Shops
Alternative starting shops for setups that are always different from the first turn.
The Spice Tower + Lucky Lake
Two new special locations that introduce new resources and earning paths.
Flamestarter Statue + Cosmic Scale
Interactive objects that unpredictably modify the village economy.
Freshscale Artisan Dragons + 4 others
New artisan dragons with unique abilities — Stuff the Magic Dragon, The Rare Medium, Space Craft, and much more.
The village you know has changed. There's a spice tower on the side of the road, a magical lake at the end of the street. Yesterday's dragons are no longer enough — but you have the new ones.
A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
The village takes shape
The mat is laid out, the initial shops are arranged—but this time, with Alternate Starter Shops. The setup isn't the usual. Something different is already in the air. The dragons in hand seem to have their own plans.
The first special shop appears
The Spice Tower comes into play. At first, no one quite knows how to use it. Then someone goes there, collects a combination of resources they hadn't planned for, and the whole table re-evaluates their strategy in real-time.
The dragon no one expected
A Freshscale Artisan Dragon is placed in a shop. Its ability overturns the value of what seemed like a useless visit. Now that shop is the most coveted in the village. Three players want it in the same turn.
The Statue intervenes
The Flamestarter Statue enters the scene and changes the game's economy. Those who were ahead suddenly have to rethink everything. Those who were behind get the perfect opportunity. The table starts breathing again.
Reputation count
The game ends. Reputation is counted, completed Fancy Dragons are tallied. The winner is almost always a surprise—but no one talks about the score. They talk about the Spice Tower, the dragon on turn three, the Cosmic Scale used at just the right moment.
How to play with the promos
The flow of each round
The base game in four phases—expanded by the variety of promos. It takes ten minutes to learn, hours to explore.
Move your player dragon to one of the shops on the street. With the promos, you'll find new places—the Tower, the Lake, the Alternate Shops—with abilities you haven't explored yet.
Gather resources from the shop and the dragons working there, or spend resources to enchant the shop and earn reputation points. Promos add new ways to achieve both.
When gathering, you can place a dragon from your hand into the shop. The Freshscale Artisan Dragons from the promo introduce abilities never seen in the base game—and change the value of every future visit.
Fancy Dragons give you bonus points at the end of the game if you've collected the right resources. With the promos, valid combinations and paths to get there increase—strategy opens up in a thousand directions.
Why it's worth it
Six reasons to add Dragons of the Past
Always different setup with Alternate Shops
Alternative starting shops radically change the economy of the first round. Each game starts with a different village—and forces you to revise well-worn strategies.
New special shops with their own rules
Spice Tower, Lucky Lake, and Space Craft introduce mechanics not present in the base game. They don't replace—they amplify, adding surprises without complicating learning.
Artisan dragons with unprecedented abilities
Freshscale Artisan Dragons have abilities never before seen in the base game. Placing them changes the value of every future visit—and creates new micro-economies within the village.
Interactive items that shift the balance
The Flamestarter Statue and Cosmic Scale introduce elements that change the village's economy during the game. Those who were ahead can no longer rest easy.
Compatible with all expansions
The promos combine with the base game and official expansions without conflict. You can use one or all nine—each combination works and creates a different game.
Nine promos never before gathered in Italy
Many of these promos were only distributed at events or in limited Kickstarter bundles. Dragons of the Past is the easiest way to get them all in a single purchase.
How it ends
Winning with promos: new paths, same objective
Reputation still wins—but with Dragons of the Past, the paths to earning it multiply. Those who always played the same way must adapt.
Victory
- The player with the most reputation points at the end of the game wins
- The game ends when dragons or Fancy Dragon contracts run out
- Promos add new sources of points—special enchantments, exclusive items, and dragons
- Requires the Flamecraft base game to be used
- It is not a standalone game—it is a promo expansion
- Can be used entirely or partially—each promo is independent of the others
Flamecraft is already one of the most loved games for family or friend game nights. Dragons of the Past is the best way to keep discovering it.
Frequently asked questions
FAQ about Flamecraft: Dragons of the Past
Is it worth buying the promos if I already have the base game?
Yes, if you have already played Flamecraft more than three times and want to vary the experience. The promos don't revolutionize the game—they enrich it with new shops, dragons, and items that introduce situations the base game cannot create. If you are new to Flamecraft, start with the base game before adding the promos.
Can all nine promos be used together?
Technically yes, but it's not the recommended approach for the first few sessions. It's better to introduce one or two promos at a time to assimilate their mechanics. Once the group is familiar with the base game, adding more than one at a time works well and creates a rich experience without being chaotic.
Is it compatible with official Flamecraft expansions?
Yes. The promos integrate without conflict with both the base game and official expansions like Flamecraft Deluxe and its accessories. There are no problematic interactions—each promo acts on a specific mechanic and remains modular relative to the rest.
Were these promos previously available separately?
Yes, but often only at events, conventions, or in limited Kickstarter bundles. Dragons of the Past is the first commercial pack to gather them all, making an otherwise hard-to-find collection accessible in a single purchase.
Do the promos increase the game's complexity?
Not significantly. Each promo introduces a shop, item, or dragon with a specific rule, but the game flow remains identical to the base game. There's no need to reread the rulebook—just read the text on the card or introduced component. Flamecraft is designed to grow organically.
Is it available in Italian?
This is the English edition. The promos are very visual, and the text on the cards is minimal—those already familiar with the base game will have no difficulty. For those who don't know English, it's helpful to have someone at the table who can translate the specific abilities of the new components.
