When little monsters build their first dungeon
Boss Monster Junior is the family and kid-friendly version of the famous Boss Monster series by Brotherwise Games. Designed by Hayden Dillard, it brings the pixel-art aesthetic of retro video games and dungeon-building into an accessible format, designed to let parents and children play together without sacrificing tactical choices.
At the table, you collect coins to pay for your dungeon rooms, draft heroes who will enter your traps, and defeat them to obtain treasures. Each type of treasure is worth victory points, and whoever has the most at the end of the game earns bonuses. The twist: killing heroes isn't enough; you also have to control which treasures you accumulate to dominate categories and win.

What you build to stop the heroes
Dungeon Rooms
Each room has a heart (damage dealt) and a treasure symbol that attracts specific heroes. You pay with coins, place them strategically, and create combos.
Coins
The resource you need to buy new rooms. You earn them each turn and must manage them to expand your dungeon at the right pace.
Heroes
You draft them and decide which one to send against which opponent. Each has hit points and a treasure type: if they survive the dungeon, you don't get their treasure.
Treasures
Each defeated hero leaves a treasure. At the end of the game, whoever has the most treasures of one type earns 3 victory points, in addition to the base value of the collected treasures.
