Hanami is a new reinterpretation of Samurai , one of Reiner Knizia 's most beloved abstract games. This version completely reimagines the game's aesthetic and atmosphere, setting it during the blossoming season in Japanese parks.
Players place their picnic tiles on a hexagonal map to conquer the most coveted activities : sakura-watching, eating onigiri, or relaxing under the lanterns. Each tile has a strategic value and a preferred activity, and the challenge is to surround and dominate the tokens to win the crowd's favor.

We played both maps: Nihon mode revives classic Knizia in all its abstract perfection; Tokyo mode , on the other hand, adds fresh dynamics, special abilities and new strategies that make it even more long-lasting.
