FroGames — Moments You'll Remember
The school is overrun. The kids are the only ones awake. And every victory unlocks something new — just like in their favorite video games.
What it's about
The first legacy game designed for children
Zombies have invaded the school. The janitor is gone. Only the children remain, with their superpowers to discover and a clear goal: close the four gates before the classrooms are overrun. 15-minute games, rules learned on the first turn, true cooperation from the first dice roll.
Zombie Kidz Evolution is the only children's game that evolves game after game. Every completed mission unlocks a trophy sticker. Every milestone opens a sealed envelope — inside are new powers, new heroes, new rules. Your kids will be eager to open the next one.
Designed by Annick Lobet and published by Le Scorpion Masqué, it is currently the #1 children's game on BoardGameGeek. This is no coincidence: it was designed for children to learn to play together, to lose together, and to win together.
Why it really works
Trophy stickers, envelopes to open, unlocked powers: children immediately recognize the logic of their video games — and get hooked.
The secret of Zombie Kidz in a nutshell
It's truly cooperative: they win together, they lose together. No long faces and no children left behind.
From the game experience
Zombie Kidz Evolution
What's in the box
The heroes' tools
Hero Standees
Eight small heroes to choose from — each with their own personality. Children will adopt them as alter egos in games.
The Zombie Die
Each turn decides where the undead appear. The tension is all in one roll — even the youngest cheer.
The Surprise Envelopes
Sealed envelopes to open only when a milestone is reached. Inside are new powers, characters, and rules.
Trophy Stickers
Every completed mission is celebrated with a sticker in the booklet. Progress is visible — and children love it.
The first time your child tells you "come on, dad, one more game — I want to open the envelope," you'll understand why it's the number one children's game in the world.
A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The evening.
Your child chooses their hero
They pick up the standee, study it, and place it on the board with a solemnity that makes you smile. Now that's their character — and they'll proudly defend it throughout the campaign.
The first zombie appears in the classroom
The die rolls red. An undead appears in the red classroom. The children look at each other: "Who goes there?" They discuss, decide together, and move the piece. It's the first time they truly cooperate — and it works.
High five at the gate
Two heroes arrive at the same gate together. They high-five — it's literally a game rule — and close the gate. The children cheer with joy. You've just witnessed true cooperation in a family.
The first envelope is opened
They've reached the goal. The sealed envelope — the one they've been curiously eyeing since they opened the box — is finally torn open. Inside there's something new. Their eyes light up. They already want to play again.
The trophy sticker in the booklet
The game is over. Won or lost, a sticker still goes into the booklet. The child chooses it, peels it off with surgical precision, and sticks it on with pride. "Dad, when do we play again?" In a few minutes. I promise.
How to play
Each child's turn
Four simple actions learned in the first round. From the second, children explain them to their parents.
The color rolled indicates which classroom a new zombie appears in. If there are no more to place, the school is overrun — everyone loses together.
Walk from one classroom to another or stay put. You cannot enter classrooms with three zombies — they are impassable. Strategy is born here.
From the classroom you are in, you can remove up to two zombies and return them to the supply. Clear the way for your friends.
If you are at a gate with another hero, high five — really — and close that door forever. Close four and you win.
Why it's the #1 children's game in the world
Six reasons parents immediately recognize
The envelopes to open
Thirteen sealed envelopes hide new powers, heroes, and rules. They only open when milestones are reached. The child can't wait to discover what's in the next one.
Visible stickers and trophies
Progress is visible, stuck in the booklet, shown to friends. Exactly the same satisfaction children know from video games.
True cooperative, no leader
Decisions are made together, wins are shared, losses are shared. No child feels excluded or dominated. They learn to teamwork without realizing it.
Fifteen minutes per game
Perfect before dinner, before bed, after homework. It's never long enough to get boring — always long enough to want to play again.
Grows with children
Starts easy, becomes more challenging every time an envelope is unlocked. By the end of the campaign, it's difficult even for adults — and children have improved with it.
Cartoon zombies, no fear
The undead are funny, colorful, with nothing unsettling about them. Perfect for ages seven and up — even the most sensitive children have no problems.
How it ends
You win together or you lose together
No sibling rivalry, no arguments at the end of the game. Zombie Kidz Evolution puts everyone on the same side — against the zombies.
Victory
- Close all four school gates before it gets overrun
- Two heroes are needed at the same gate — and a high five
- After victory, open the next envelope if available
Defeat
- The zombies in the supply run out — the school has been overrun
- You lose together, but still celebrate with a sticker in the booklet
- You play again immediately — children always want an immediate rematch
Zombie Kidz Evolution is the most beloved children's game on BoardGameGeek. Behind that position are thousands of families who sit down at the table every night — and come back to sit down the next day.
Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ about Zombie Kidz Evolution
Can the zombie theme scare children?
No. The zombies in Zombie Kidz Evolution are cartoonish, very colorful, and devoid of any unsettling elements. They are funny creatures to scare away, not threatening figures. Even the most sensitive children find the setting fun — truly designed for seven-year-olds, not disguised as an adult game.
What happens when we finish the campaign?
Unlike many legacy games, Zombie Kidz Evolution remains fully playable even after opening all the envelopes. The new powers unlocked remain available, the evolved rules too — and games continue to work. So nothing is "burned": you keep a complete game in the box, ready to be brought out again.
From what age does it really work well?
The publisher indicates seven years, and our experience confirms it. A bright six-year-old can do it with an adult nearby. From seven years old, they play independently. The great thing is that the game grows with them — at ten years old, they will approach the same envelopes in a much more strategic way. We recommend it for ages 7 to 10 as the ideal range.
How many players does it work best with?
With 3 or 4 players, you get the most complete experience: the board is more lively, group decisions are richer. With 2 players, it's still excellent and faster — perfect for dad-son or mom-daughter evenings. The game was designed to be played as a family, and this is evident in every design choice.
Are there sequels or expansions?
Yes. Zombie Teenz Evolution is the direct sequel — same universe, same legacy spirit, but with older children (8+ years) and slightly richer mechanics. It can also be played without having tried the first one. There's also Flashback: Zombie Kidz, a timed observation game set in the same world. Three entry points to a small family universe.
Is it available in Italian?
Zombie Kidz Evolution has received editions in many languages. Check the version for sale on this page to be sure of the language — the envelopes contain text that is revealed game after game, so the language really matters. If in doubt, write to us and we will confirm the language of the available edition.
