Yokai Pagoda

1. Setup & Goal (make a few points): Yokai Pagodait's acard board gamein 3 rounds where you want to close the game withas few points as possiblein your reserve. Bad trick: in the counting accountsonly the lowest card for each Yokai typethat you possess (so having many different Yokai can be bad, but even “cleansing” one type can save you).

   Table preparation:mix them100 number cards(10 different Yokai, values ​​1–10), put2 cards face upto starttwo piles of waste, then come on7 cardsto each player. The remainder forms thePagoda deckin the center between the two piles.

   Turn: you always play 1 card (and look at what “matches”):on your turn you have to playa cardon one of the piles, and the effect depends on the comparison with the card on top of that pile (such as Yokai and number). Here is the “mind game”: chooseWhereplaying it is almost more important thanWhichplay.

   Main effects when you play a card:
   
   
   Same Yokai OR same number→ you cangive 1 cardfrom your hand to another player (you “give” them points and dirty their collection).
   
   
   Different Yokai + Higher Number→ you candraw 1 card: orrandomly from the deckortaking the first card face upof the other discard pile (tactical choice: risk vs. control).
   
   
   Different Yokai + Lower Number→ you cancontinue without effect ortry toclose the round, but only if you have it in hand3 points or less…calculated in a “clever” way: you only countthe lowest card of each Yokaithat you have in your hand.
   
   
   
5. 
   End of round, reserve and victory:when someone closes the round,everyonemove the cards remaining in their hand into their ownpersonal reserve. After3 round, whoever has winsfewer pointsin the reserve, always countingonly the lowest card for each YokaiThe key is balance:download cardswhen you can, hold only what you need to lower your score and understandwhen to force (or avoid) closingof the round.
