🐸 HOW TO PLAY
1. Choose a Germany: East or West
Two players compete for the future of postwar Germany. West Germany focuses on economic growth and prosperity; East Germany seeks to resist, promote socialism, and manage internal tensions.
2. Perform actions by playing decade cards
Each round represents a decade (from 1945 to 1989). Cards are drafted midway through the period: you use them for events, building factories or roads, improving well-being, or reducing discontent. Your choices change the nation's fate.
3. Build economy and stabilize consensus
Roads and factories generate production to support a high standard of living. Improving well-being reduces discontent, but unbalanced growth can spark protests. Find political and economic balance.
4. Narrative-strategic asymmetry
Only the East can address the threat of intellectual flight—with devastating consequences—and gain socialists who can lead to victory. The West can eliminate socialism and influence the final outcome through stability and progress.
5. The game ends after 4 rounds or early victory
It occurs if the East has accumulated too many socialists (East victory) or the West has eliminated the socialist movement and maintained stability (West victory). In the absence of an early end, the winner is the one who best managed prosperity, protests, and economic development.
