The FroGames Board
You prepare the illusion for weeks. You rehearse it in workshops until every piece fits perfectly. The curtain rises, the audience holds their breath, and when you flip the final switch, you’ll know if you’ve triumphed or if your assistant missed their cue.
WHAT IS IT
Magicians competing for the stone that grants supernatural power
Trickerion transports us to the city of Magoria in the late 19th century, where four illusionists compete for the succession of the legendary Dáhlgaard. Designed by Richard Ámann and Viktor Péter (Anachrony, Voidfall), the game blends strategic worker placement with the construction of theatrical performances, featuring a fame point system that functions as both currency and a victory condition. The Art Deco setting, created by six Hungarian artists, turns every board into a vintage poster.
At the table, each player manages a team of four specialized characters (Engineer, Assistant, Manager, and Apprentices) whom you send into the city to gather components, learn tricks, and book spots at the Theater. The preparation phase takes place on your private Workshop, where you assemble tricks like domino tiles. Then, performances come to life with a positioning mini-game that rewards those who manage to chain effects and anticipate their opponents' moves.
What they say abroad
"A game that makes you feel like you're actually building something impossible."
A game that makes you feel like you're actually building something impossible.
— Shut Up & Sit Down
Six boards, twelve actions, forty-eight tricks. The first game crushes you. The third shows you why Trickerion is a favorite for those who love depth without randomness. It's not for everyone: if you're looking for something instant, this isn't your show.

THE ALCHEMY OF PLANNING
Trickerion is a masterpiece of "heavy Euro" design that sublimely blends worker placement with simultaneous action scheduling. The real challenge isn't just what to do, but when and where to do it. Players must secretly assign action cards to their locations (Theater, Workshop, Market, Dark Alley) before knowing their opponents' intentions, creating constant strategic tension.
The management system is multi-layered: not all workers are created equal. The Illusionist has more Action Points than the Apprentice, but it costs more to use him for mundane tasks. You'll need to acquire trick schematics (Mechanical, Spiritual, Optical, or Escape), gather the necessary rare materials, and prepare them in your workshop to transform them into tokens to physically place on the show cards.
Secret Programming
Decide where to send your workers before your turn begins. Reading your opponent is crucial.
Performance Links
Link your tricks with those of others in the Theater to create devastating point combos.
Various Specialists
Engineers, Managers, and Apprentices offer asymmetrical efficiencies and action points.
Dark Alley
A risky place to get powerful bonuses and special, rule-changing cards.
Resource Management
Balance the purchase of raw materials with the limited capacity of your Workshop.
Evolution of the Wizard
Unlock new skills and expand your repertoire as your Renown grows.
Only those who master every cog in the system will be able to lift the Trickerion Stone.
