🥊 Tag Team – The fastest and most spectacular table duel in the arena
Two fighters, an arena, and a handful of cards ready to unleash hell. Tag Team brings the energy of old arcade games straight to the tabletop: choose your two fighters from twelve available and create the perfect pair of strikes, combos, and counters. It's a two-player card game where every decision is worth a punch... or a landslide victory.
⚡ How to turn on the match
Start with a tiny deck, just two cards, and let the fight heat up: the cards reveal themselves one after another in an automatic flow, but the real strategy comes after each round, when you can add new moves to your deck without ever rearranging it. Each additional card is a choice of pace and power, a piece of your plan to unleash the perfect combo and knock out your opponent. Slash, block, strike, repeat —in ten minutes, you've experienced an entire battle.
🏆 Why “Tag Team” is a guaranteed knockout

How to play
The flow of each round
A round lasts long enough to cycle through all the cards in your deck. Then you start over, with a longer deck than before.
Both of you flip the first card of your deck. They resolve simultaneously: attacks, defenses, special effects. Damage goes through, blocks work. It's automatic, but you knew what was coming.
Flip the next card. Then the next. Until one of you runs out of cards. At that point, the round ends. If your opponent still has cards, they flip them all: unblocked attacks hurt.
Choose a card from your reserve (your fighter's cards) and add it to the END of your deck. You cannot reorder. You cannot shuffle. The card you add now will only come up after all the others. You program the future.
Take your decks (now longer) and start flipping again. The cards you've added begin to interact. The combos you had in mind take shape. Or your opponent dismantles them with a timely fighter change.

What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
Team selection
Twelve fighters on the table, each with their own deck and special. You choose two. Your opponent does the same. You're already thinking about synergies: one that hits hard, one that controls. You're already imagining the combos. You haven't even flipped a card yet.
The first blows
You start with two cards each. You flip them. They resolve. It's automatic, but not random: you chose those cards, you know what they do. First damage. First life point lost. Now the real deck-building begins: add a card to your deck, but you cannot reorder it.
The deck grows, control slips
Each round you add cards. The deck gets longer. The combos you're planning now will explode in three turns. Your opponent does the same. You're building ticking time bombs. One of you will switch fighters to escape the pressure. The other was waiting for it.
The combo you planned starts
You flip three cards in a row: attack, buff, special. It's the sequence you inserted four turns ago. It activates all at once. Your opponent loses half their life in one hit. They look at their deck, count the remaining cards, calculate if they have time to respond. They don't.
KO
One of the two fighters collapses. The opponent's deck is still full, but they have no life points left. Or the cards run out and the one who resisted better wins. The game lasted fifteen minutes. You immediately want a rematch with other fighters. It always happens.

Three things you need to know before buying it
You can never reorder the deck
Every card you add goes to the end. You cannot shuffle, you cannot move, you cannot reorganize. If you get the order wrong, the combo will be broken. This is the heart of the game, but in the first few games, you'll feel helpless: you're building a sequence you'll only see in three turns. You have to learn to think in time.
Twelve fighters to learn
Each fighter has a unique deck, different special moves, hidden synergies. The first few games are explorations: you don't yet know what your opponent does, you don't yet master your arsenal. The learning curve is gentle, but the real depth emerges after 4-5 games, when you start recognizing enemy setups and building countermoves.
Fast, but not frenetic
A game lasts 15 minutes, but it's not a filler: it's a concentrated duel. You have to think three turns ahead, read your opponent's deck, calculate the timing. It's not a game to play distracted while chatting. It's a head-to-head that requires total attention for fifteen minutes.
🏆Victory and defeatWhat the ending rewards▼
How it ends
How to win and how to lose
The one who knocks out the opponent wins. Or the one who resists better when both run out of cards.
Victory
- Reduce your opponent's life points to zero: immediate KO, you win
- Both run out of cards and you have more life points: victory by points
- Your opponent has no more cards to add to their deck and you do: technical victory
Elimination
- Your life points reach zero: KO, you lose
- Cards run out and your opponent has more life than you: defeat by points
- You have no more cards to add to your deck and your opponent can still build
Tag Team is the game that makes you program combos three turns ahead, calculate timing to the millisecond, and switch fighters at the perfect moment. It's not about who has the best cards. It's about who added them to the deck at the right time.

Frequently asked questions
FAQ about Tag Team
Can I reorder the deck during the game?
No, never. Every card you add goes to the end, after all the others. You cannot shuffle, you cannot reorganize. This is the central rule: you build a sequence that you will only see in a few turns. If you get the order wrong, the combo will be broken. It's pure programming.
How long does it take to learn to play well?
The rules in 10 minutes, the first game is immediate. But the real depth emerges after 4-5 matches, when you start recognizing synergies between fighters, reading the opponent's setups, and calculating combo timings. Each pair of fighters completely changes the strategy.
Are the fighters balanced or are some stronger?
Each fighter has a different style: some hit hard, others control, others do long combos. It's not direct rock-paper-scissors, but pair synergies matter more than individuals. In the first few games, some will seem easier, but with experience, you discover countermoves. The authors have extensively tested the balancing.
What mechanics does Tag Team use?
It's an auto battler (cards resolve automatically) combined with deck-building (you build the deck during the game). It uses action queue (sequence programming), simultaneous action selection, variable player powers (each fighter has unique abilities), and card play conflict resolution. The twist: you can never reorder the deck.
Is it available in Italian?
Yes, this is the Italian edition published by Asmodee. Cards, rulebook, and references all in Italian. Ready to play as soon as you open the box.
