FroGames — Moments You'll Remember
Three moves and you turn the game around. Then the opponent does it to you. And in the end, you discover the elephant was decisive, but nobody expected it.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT
A tactical battle in the savanna where each animal has its own way to dominate
Strategeti is a thematic abstract game set in the Serengeti, where two players compete for control of the territory using four animal species. FlexiQ Games has built an asymmetric movement system where each animal has unique abilities: elephants push, lions prey, gazelles jump, zebras run. The double-sided board offers two levels of challenge with different entry points.
Move your animals on the 4x4 grid, anticipate your opponent's moves, try to align four pawns or eliminate enough opponents to win. Games last 15 intense minutes where one move can turn the tide. It's not a classic 4-in-a-row: the river with crocodiles and the ravine eliminate anyone pushed out, and special abilities force you to think three moves ahead.
What they say abroad
A movement system that turns every turn into a three-dimensional puzzle.

15 minutes that feel like a chess game, but with a charging elephant.

Your pawns
Four species, four strategies
Elephants
Push any animal back. Use them to send opponents into the river or ravine. The brute force of the savanna.
Lions
Prey on gazelles and zebras, eliminating them from the game. They are your tactical scalpel: use them to break enemy formations.
Gazelles
Jump over any animal, even multiple times in the same turn. Absolute mobility: reach impossible positions.
Zebras
Run freely in any direction. Pure versatility: build lines or flee from lions.
In 15 minutes you play two games. In the third, you realize the elephant is underrated. In the fifth, you discover the gazelle-lion combo. And you keep going.
A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
The animals enter
You place your pieces at the entry points. The other player does the same. You're already trying to figure out what they want to do: align or eliminate? The board is empty but the tension is already present. You think of the gazelle, they think of the elephant.
The first pushes
The first elephant advances and pushes back your zebra. You respond with the lion threatening their gazelle. Every move is a declaration of intent. The center of the board becomes the battleground. Nobody wants to be on the edge: too close to the river.
The gazelle's leap
They build a line of three. You're about to lose. Then your gazelle jumps twice in one turn and lands in the position that breaks everything. They didn't see it. You did. Now the game is wide open again and no one is in control.
Someone ends up in the river
An elephant pushes your zebra over the edge. Crocodiles. You lose a piece. Now you are numerically disadvantaged but you have a line of three almost ready. You must decide: defend or attack? There's no time for both. Choose attack.
Four in a row or total block
One of the three conditions occurs. Either someone aligns four pieces, or eliminates five opponents, or blocks the other from moving. The game ends in one stroke. You look at each other. Someone says: one more? And you start again.
How to play
The flow of each turn
One turn, one move. Then it's the other's turn. Zero downtime, maximum interaction.
Decide which of your pieces to move. Each species has its unique movement: consider what you need right now.
Elephant pushes, lion preys, gazelle jumps, zebra runs. Some moves eliminate opponents, others reposition them.
If you push an opponent into the river or ravine, they are eliminated. If you align four pieces, you win immediately.
Four in a row? Five eliminations? Opponent blocked? If so, you win. Otherwise, pass the turn.
Why it's different from others
Six elements that make the difference
Asymmetrical movement between species
There are no identical pieces. Each animal moves differently and has unique abilities. The elephant pushes, the lion preys, the gazelle jumps multiple times. You have to think like each species: it's not chess with interchangeable pawns.
Lethal edges: river and ravine
The board's perimeter is not neutral. If you're pushed into the river or ravine, you're eliminated. This turns position into a tactical resource: being in the center is safer, but less flexible.
Three simultaneous victory conditions
You can win by aligning four pieces, eliminating five opponents, or blocking the other from moving. Three different paths that require different strategies. The opponent must defend on all fronts.
Double-sided board with different levels
One side is for beginners, the other for experts. The entry points change and this completely alters the possible openings. When you master the first side, you flip the board and start again.
15-minute games with no downtime
Zero downtime. While the other player moves, you are already calculating your response. Games are fast but intense: in one evening you play six, eight, ten. Every defeat demands an immediate rematch.
Complete information, zero luck
There are no dice, cards, or randomness. You see everything, you see everything. If you lose, it's because you miscalculated or the other player saw a move you didn't. Pure tactical skill.
How it ends
How to win and how to lose
Three paths to victory. You must control them all or your opponent will exploit one.
Victory
- You align four of your pieces horizontally, vertically, or diagonally
- You eliminate five opponent pieces (by pushing them into the river/ravine or preying on them)
- You block the opponent: none of their pieces can move legally
Defeat
- The opponent completes a line of four before you do
- You lose five pieces and no longer have the numerical strength to counter
- You cannot move any of your pieces: you are blocked and lose immediately
An abstract game that lasts as long as a coffee but is as engaging as a game of chess. With animals that push, jump, and prey.
Frequently asked questions
Strategeti FAQ
Is it suitable for 7-year-olds?
Yes. The rules are immediate: each animal does only one thing, and the board is small. A 7-year-old understands in 5 minutes. Winning against an adult requires practice, but the learning curve is gentle. The easy side of the board is designed for beginners.
How long does the first game last?
The explanation takes 3-4 minutes. The first game lasts 15-20 minutes because players hesitate on moves. From the second game onwards, it's a clean 15 minutes. It's perfect as a filler or for playing three games in a row during a break.
What is the difference between the two sides of the board?
The entry points change position. On the basic side, you enter from opposite corners, on the advanced side, the entries are asymmetrical. This radically changes opening strategies. The advanced side rewards those who know the animal combos well.
Can it be played without a theme? Does it work as a pure abstract game?
Absolutely. The savanna theme is a costume: you can ignore it completely and treat the pieces as abstract pieces with different abilities. The tactical depth holds up even without the animal narrative. It works for those who love pure abstract games.
Is it available in Italian?
Yes, this edition is in Italian. The game has very little text (basically just the rulebook), so the language doesn't impact gameplay. The pieces are iconic and universal.
