The FroGames Review
You draw a card. Fine. You draw another. Still fine. Maybe one more? The BOT stares you down. The die of fortune rolls. In the end, you tell your friends about that time you died 5 rooms from the exit.
WHAT IT IS
A roguelike dungeon crawler where every card could be your last
Infinity Rogue: Space Dungeon began in 2023 as an entry for the BGG Solitaire Print and Play Design Contest, where it achieved concrete results in multiple categories: #2 Best Artist, #2 Best New Artist, #4 Best New Solitaire Designer, #5 Best Graphics, and #17 Best Overall Game. Designed and illustrated entirely by Kevin Newman (known as Kev Makes Games), it is his first game to move from print-and-play to a true retail production, picked up by Juegorama for the Microrama collection.
You are the Infinity Rogue, a space adventurer who just crashed into the Space Dungeon. The goal is simple: find the Key Card, defeat the Boss, survive three levels, and escape. The heart of the game is a blackjack-style push-your-luck system: you draw cards to accumulate Power, but bust and you lose your turn. Each level is randomly generated with modular tiles, every battle against the BOTs (Brutal Opponent Threats) is a duel of nerves, and every Loot Card you collect modifies your deck for subsequent battles.
What the designer says
"Push your Luck, Crush your foes, Escape the Dungeon"
Push your luck, crush your foes, escape the Dungeon
— Kevin Newman, designer
This game comes from an indie background: born as a print-and-play, it won category awards in a BGG contest, but doesn't yet have enough reviews to call it a settled consensus. It is the designer's first retail production, published via crowdfunding: we will update with real impressions as soon as we have the box in our hands.

Infinity Rogue: Space Dungeon
Infinity Rogue is designed exclusively for solo play. The BOTs (Brutal Opponent Threats) draw cards from their own deck and simulate opponents with quasi-sentient behavior. The experience is complete and designed from the start for solo play: there is no multiplayer version it is derived from.
What you'll find in the Space Dungeon
Four elements that define every run
Modular Dungeon tiles
Each level generates with random Blueprints and Room Cards. The layout changes every game, the Key Card hides in a different room, and the Boss is always waiting for you at the exit.
BOTs (Brutal Opponent Threats)
Enemies have their own deck and draw cards just like you. The fight is a blackjack duel: whoever gets closest to the maximum Power without busting wins and deals damage.
Loot Cards
Every room can hide equipment. Loot cards are added to your deck and unlock special abilities, defensive bonuses, or cards with favorable values for push-your-luck.
Push-your-luck system
You draw cards to accumulate Power. Stopping before the limit is safe. Risking one last card can turn the tide of battle or cause you to bust and lose your turn. Every choice counts.
Born as a contest print-and-play, grown into a real box. The question remains the same: do you draw another card, or stop here?

How to play
The flow of each turn
A turn is fast: explore, fight, collect. Repeat until you find the Key Card.
Move your token to an adjacent room. Reveal the Room card: it may be empty, contain Loot, or hide a BOT.
You and the BOT draw cards from your deck to accumulate Power. The goal is to get as close as possible to the limit without going over. Whoever has more Power wins and deals damage.
If the room contains Loot, add the card to your deck. Loot cards modify probabilities, add abilities, or protect against damage.
One room hides the Key Card. When you find it, reach the exit and face the final Boss. Defeat it to advance to the next level (or win if it is the third level).

What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
Crash-landing
Choose the difficulty level, shuffle the boards, generate the layout. The Space Dungeon is in front of you, different from every other game. The first room awaits. 2-minute setup and you're already in.
First rooms, first risks
You explore the rooms. One contains Loot, another hides a BOT. The first clash: you draw cards, accumulate Power, and decide whether to stop or take a risk. The BOT draws after you. If you bust, you laugh. If you don't, you lose health.
Deck building
Loot Cards modify your deck. You add abilities, safe values, defensive bonuses. Every card collected changes the probabilities of the push-your-luck mechanic. You start recognizing combos. The dungeon is closing in.
The Key Card and the Boss
You find the Key Card. The exit is open. The Boss awaits: double health, a meaner deck. The final battle is a pure duel of nerves. Draw, stop, risk. The one who makes fewer mistakes wins.
Victory or reset
If you survive, you move to the next level. If you die, start over from the first level with a new dungeon. The roguelike shows no mercy, but every run teaches you something. And you're already thinking about the next one.

Very few BGG ratings
The game was born from an indie contest and still has a handful of ratings on BoardGameGeek: this is not data you can rely on like you would with an established title. The concrete recognitions come from the 2023 Solitaire PnP Design Contest (top 5 in multiple categories), not a broad consensus of reviews.
The push-your-luck is brutal
Deck variance can be heavy. You can do everything right and lose because the BOT never busts. Short runs help, but if you're looking for total control, this is not the right game for you.
Mathematical, not narrative replayability
Every game the dungeon is different, but there is no story, there are no scripted events. Replayability is procedural: new combinations of rooms, BOTs, and Loot. It works for those who love optimizing, less so for those seeking a narrative arc.
🏆Victory and defeatWhat the ending rewards▼
How it ends
How to win and how to lose
The goal is clear: three levels, three Bosses, one escape route. But the Space Dungeon has many ways to kill you.
Victory
- Defeat the final Bosses of the three consecutive levels
- Reach the exit of the third level with at least 1 hit point
- Escape the Space Dungeon (and collect the rights to tell the tale)
Defeat
- Your hit points reach zero (from BOT damage or traps)
- You bust during a critical battle and the BOT shows no mercy
- The deck runs out and you can no longer draw cards
Infinity Rogue: Space Dungeon is a pure 54-card roguelike. No frills, no story: just you, the deck, and the eternal question. Do I draw or do I stop?

Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ about Infinity Rogue: Space Dungeon
Is the BoardGameGeek rating reliable?
Take it with a grain of salt: the game still has very few ratings on BGG, a sample too small to speak of a consolidated consensus. The most solid results remain those of the 2023 Solitaire Print and Play Design Contest, where it achieved concrete placements (#2 Best Artist, #4 Best New Solitaire Designer, among others).
Is it already available or is it still in crowdfunding?
It is in Late Pledge on Gamefound, like other titles in the Microrama Collection, with estimated delivery in November 2026. It is not, therefore, a product ready for immediate shipping.
Is it solo-only or is there a multiplayer mode?
Infinity Rogue is designed exclusively for solo play. There is no cooperative or competitive mode: it is you against the Space Dungeon.
How long does a game really last?
It depends on how long you survive. A full run (three levels) can last 30-45 minutes. If you die early, 5-10 minutes. The beauty of a roguelike is that you can have a quick run or grind attempts for hours.
How difficult is it to learn?
The basic rules are learned in 10 minutes: explore, draw cards, don't bust. The real difficulty lies in the timing of the push-your-luck and deck management, and that comes only by playing. Expect to lose your first 3-4 games.
What mechanics does Infinity Rogue: Space Dungeon use?
Push-your-luck (blackjack style), deck-building (collect Loot and modify the deck), roguelike dungeon crawling (random layouts, procedural generation), resource management (health, Power).
What's in the box?
In the original print-and-play version: 54 cards (dungeon, BOT, Loot, Player deck), 6 8mm cubes to track health and progress, 1 movement token. The new Juegorama edition might revise the components: we will update the page with final details.
Is the replayability real or does it exhaust quickly?
Replayability is procedural: randomly generated dungeons, four difficulty levels, ever-changing Loot combinations. If you like to optimize and improve runs, it holds up for dozens of games. If you seek narrative variety, after 10 runs the loop begins to repeat itself.
Do I need to know English? Is the game in Italian?
The game is in English. The text on the cards is present but essential (ability names, numerical values). There is currently no official Italian edition.
The people behind the game
Who invented it, who illustrated it, who publishes it — and what else they have done.
