🐸 HOW TO PLAY
1. Prepare the table with a river board, bags and personal scoreboards
Place 6 river tiles in a row, draw a few tiles with colored glass on them, and distribute them. Place your 3 pieces of glass in your starting bag and begin the track on your personal board.
2. Insert glass into the river and collect it
On your turn, choose one or two glass shapes from your bag: place one shape on a matching river tile, then take all the glass from an adjacent tile. The collected glass immediately goes to your factory (personal board), filling columns by color.
3. Refill your bag from the lake when needed
If you're low on glass, you can choose to draw 4 from the lake instead of playing a tile. Be careful not to exceed the limit of 5: any excess glass will overflow and cost you points.
4. Build neat columns and rows without gaps
When adding glass to your grid, place the new colors in new columns and fill the existing columns from bottom to top. Plan to create tall columns (which count towards the final score) and continuous rows to unlock extra points.
5. The game ends when you have 17 glasses in your inventory
When a player has at least 17 glasses, the round ends. Then everyone has one last turn. Points are calculated from:
Continuous lines on your board,
The two highest columns (value of the highest box),
Penalty for each overflowing glass (-3 VP each).

River Valley Glassworks is an abstract, family-friendly board game , designed for 1-5 players and plays in 25 to 45 minutes.
The main mechanic is drafting from a modular river: you play tiles with specific shapes to collect available glass, then arrange them on your board looking for patterns that award points.
Strategic tile placement is enhanced by row/column bonuses and penalties for overdoing it with the same color.
The river flow system adds variety and dynamism to every turn. Also great for solo play, River Valley Glassworks is perfect for those looking for an elegant game, simple to explain but with interesting choices to make .

This title surprised us: the setup is quick, the rules linear… but it is not at all trivial .
Every tile drawn is a choice of opportunity and risk. You can force your hand to get the glass you want or wait for the perfect moment to fit everything together like a Zen mosaic.
A family board game that also works great among gamers: it's fluid, intelligent and always different , with a very careful production and splendid illustrations.
