In Perch , each player commands a flock of birds (and not just their own!), trying to gain control of the best areas in the forest. But beware: this game is dirty , with strategic pushes, last-minute ties, and the special abilities of the small woodland animals.
With area majority mechanics and a strong shared bag-building component, Perch is a surprisingly tactical board game for 2-5 players , with a modular tile set and high replayability. Each turn, you'll draw birds (even other people's!) and place them at key points on the map, taking care not to give your opponents an advantage.

🐸 HOW TO PLAY
1. Draw a mix of birds from a common bag
At the start of each round, a pool of colored birds is drawn from a bag containing tokens from all players. This creates a shared offering, making each turn unpredictable and full of strategic choices.
2. Place birds on locations to gain majority points
Players take turns selecting a bird from the pool and placing it on one of the various locations. Each location has its own scoring scheme and often rewards multiple positions, not just the one who wins the game—so keep an eye out for second place, too.
3. Each location has a special power to activate
Some locations offer unique abilities, such as removing opponents' birds, moving them, or manipulating the pool. Whoever controls these areas can gain decisive advantages and change the momentum of the match.
4. Not just your birds: you can use your opponent's birds too
The genius of Perch is that you can place birds of any color, not just your own. This allows you to bluff, deflect the majority, or use your opponent against themselves . It's a game where control is indirect... but powerful.
5. After 5 rounds, the player who has collected the most control points wins.
The game lasts five rounds. At the end, the points earned in each location and through special abilities are added up. The winner is the one who best reads the map, exploits the common pool, and places the cards wisely.

We loved the feeling of tension when fishing from the bag, and that visceral satisfaction when you manage to push the others out.
The game manages to be tactical, accessible, but also just the right amount of evil , and the modularity of the map gives it new life every time.
