Bagh Chal is the quintessential asymmetric abstract game. Unlike chess or checkers, where armies mirror each other, here the forces on the field are radically different in number, movement, and objectives. The board is a 5x5 grid connected by orthogonal and diagonal lines, the ideal hunting ground for quick skirmishes and decisive blockades.
The game unfolds in two crucial phases: placement, where the goats enter the game one at a time, attempting to occupy strategic nodes without being eaten, and movement, where the herd attempts to close off vital spaces. The tigers, already present at the four corners, must use their mobility to leap over the goats and remove them from the game.
