CRISIS PROTOCOL
In Hostage Negotiator , the central mechanic is dynamic "Hand Building." Your cards represent conversation techniques, from simple small talk to stall for time to bold promises. You don't build a permanent deck: you purchase cards that return to the supply after use, forcing you to manage resources turn by turn.
The dice determine the success of your words, but luck can be mitigated by your strategic skill. Do you want to risk an aggressive approach to free three hostages immediately, or do you prefer to calm the captor to lower the threat level and roll more dice next turn?

HAND BUILDING
Purchase Conversation cards using earned Conversation Points, adjusting your hand to the current situation.
DICE RESOLUTION
Each card requires a dice roll. The threat level determines how many dice you can roll. The tension is real.
UNIQUE CAPTORS
Face Arkayne, Donna, or Edward. Each has special rules, dedicated Terror cards, and different defeat conditions.
THREAT LEVEL
Managing your kidnapper's anger thermometer is crucial. The calmer he is, the more dice you have. The angrier he is, the more risk you face.
CRITICAL DECISIONS
Do you grant a minor request to buy time, or do you refuse everything so as not to show weakness?
