GAME OBJECTIVE
In Heritage Farms, players must work together (or compete, depending on the mode) to accumulate the most points by saving the crops and farm animals, while avoiding the fox's dangers and negative events. Victory is achieved by optimally managing your hand of cards through trick-taking mechanics.

PREPARATION
Shuffle the main deck containing the Harvest, Animal, Fox, and Event cards. Each player receives an initial hand of cards. The remaining cards form the draw pile. Place the scoring markers and boards (if any) in the center of the table, accessible to everyone.

SHIFT PROGRESS
The game is played in a series of tricks. The first player plays a card from their hand, determining the leading suit (e.g., Corn, Chicken, etc.).

1. **Play a Card:** Other players must match the suit, if possible. If they don't have any cards of the leading suit, they may play any other card (which may trigger special effects or be considered "discard").

2. **Resolving the Trick:** The highest card of the led suit wins the trick, unless a "Triumph" card has been played (if applicable according to the specific rules of the hand). The winner of the trick collects the cards and places them in his scoring pile.

3. **Special Effects:** Some cards, like the Fox, have immediate or negative effects (e.g., stealing points, forcing a discard). Watchdog cards can be used to neutralize the Fox.

END OF GAME
The game ends when all cards have been played or a predetermined score is reached. Players tally points based on saved cards (corn cobs, chickens) and subtract any penalties (unchallenged foxes). The player with the highest score wins, proving they are the best farmer in the county!
