🐸 HOW TO PLAY
1. Lead your clan across wild, modular lands
Each game takes place on a changing board, with different territories to explore. Each player controls a prehistoric clan with unique abilities, ready to leave their mark on history.
2. Choose whether to use cards to move or to power up
Each turn you play a card from your hand: you can use it to move based on the type of terrain or to enhance your clan's abilities, making you more efficient in future actions.
3. Collect resources and create rock art to get points
Along the way, you can collect food, pigments, and symbols, which allow you to leave engravings or paintings on your personal board, unlocking points and permanent perks.
4. Use special bonuses and secret objectives to maximize your score
Each clan can play special cards that offer immediate bonuses. Additionally, hidden and personal objectives reward specific actions, bringing extra points if pursued intelligently.
5. The game ends when the finish line is reached or the deck runs out.
When a clan reaches the end of the path or runs out of decks, the game ends. The clan with the most points through art, exploration, and skill development wins.

Each player leads a tribe, represented by a unique deck with different abilities. The goal is to cross increasingly hostile territories, gather resources, carve cave paintings, and reach cairns (rock sanctuaries) before the lands are submerged.
The hand management system combines with engine building and path choices, creating a variable and always tense gaming experience.

Footprints is a hidden gem : one of those surprises you open by chance and can't get out of your head. 🐸
Managing your own clan deck is very elegant, the games are varied and never boring.
The run to the cairns is a perfect mix of tension, efficiency and adaptation to the terrain.
We tried it both solo and with multiplayer… and in each case it won us over.
A highly recommended title if you are looking for something different from the usual Euro games , with a strong soul and gameplay that really evolves from game to game.
