FroGames — Moments You'll Remember
The gates have opened. New hybrid dragons have arrived in town — and they bring double fire.
What it's about
The enchanted city expands — and new inhabitants burn twice as bright
Flamecraft: Dragons & Dragons is the definitive expansion for the base game by Manny Vega, with illustrations by Sandara Tang and published by Cardboard Alchemy. It's not a cosmetic addition: it's a collection of independent modules that rewrite the possibilities of every game.
The heart of the expansion is the 15 Idragons — hybrid dragons with dual nature and a unique "fire up" ability for each. Alongside them come new shops, Upscale cards for enhanced enchantments, Companion dragons, and Adventurer dragons. Each module can be added or removed as desired, without complicating the structure of the base game.
Requires the Flamecraft base game to play. Compatible with all existing editions.
From the game experience
An Idragon with a double active ability is the answer to all the questions you were asking about the base game.
The secret of Dragons & Dragons in one line
Choosing which modules to activate before each game is already half the fun — no two sessions are ever the same.

What Dragons & Dragons brings to the table
15 Hybrid Idragons
Dual-natured dragons with an exclusive "fire up" ability. They are shuffled into the artisan deck in groups of 6 — each combination changes the game's dynamic.
New Double Dragons shop
An enchanted courtyard where dragons challenge each other. New starting shop with special rules for the "dueling" mechanic between dragons.
18 Upscale Cards
A new way to enchant: the Elder's statue fills with Upscale cards. When you enchant, you can donate goods and coins to get exclusive magical rewards.
Parks & Crafts Mat
A new neoprene layout for playing in the park. Dragons can use "fire up" once per turn — changing the rhythm of the entire game.
Flamecraft was already a complete world. Dragons & Dragons makes it even more yours.

What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
You choose what to add — and the arguments already begin
Decide which modules to activate for this game: the Hydragons? The playmat? The Upscale cards? Everyone has an opinion. You build the city, distribute the dragons, and someone immediately notices which Hydragon they'd like to have in their deck. Desire guides strategy from the very first second.
The first Hydragon changes everything
Someone recruits the first hybrid Hydragon. The double ability activates — and in one fell swoop, two effects arrive that the base game never allowed. An elegant move, a reaction at the table. The game is already different from anything you've played before.
Upscale cards turn a mundane enchantment into an event
Someone enchants a shop and activates the Elder's statue — distributing goods, earning coins, triggering a chain of rewards. An action that seemed normal turns out to be the center of gravity of the turn. The others stop and watch. No one expected this turn of events.
The city fills up — and space runs out
Shops fill up, dragons accumulate, the modular board transforms. Those who built their strategy around a shop gain an advantage. Those distracted by the shiny dragons pay the price. Pressure mounts, decisions become urgent, every turn counts double.
You count the points. You plan the next game.
The game ends, you count the points — but the conversation is already elsewhere. "What if next time we also activate the Adventurer cards?" "That Hydragon combination was unbeatable." You pack away the game already knowing which modules you want to try together next time.
How to play with the expansion
The flow of each round with Dragons & Dragons
Same base structure. New possibilities with every action.
Before starting, the group decides which modules to include. Hydragons, Upscale cards, Parks & Crafts playmat — each combination is a distinct variant of the game.
Move your flamecrafter, collect goods from the dragons present, then optionally recruit a hybrid Hydragon with its double ability into your personal deck.
When you enchant a shop, you can now activate the Upscale cards from the Elder's statue — donating goods to receive additional magical rewards not present in the base game.
Each Hydragon can be "fired up" once to activate its special hybrid ability. Choosing when to use it is often the most important decision of the turn.
Why it's worth it
Six reasons to add Dragons & Dragons
Independent modules
Each element can be individually activated or deactivated. You can introduce only the Hydragons, or only the Upscale cards — the learning curve is flat, the variety enormous.
15 unique hybrid Hydragons
No Hydragon is the same as another. Each dual nature generates different combinations — the artisan deck is never the same from one game to the next.
Upscale: new way to enchant
The 18 Upscale cards add a strategic dimension to enchanting. Donate to receive — a calculated risk that can turn a game around in one turn.
Double Dragons: the duel shop
A new starting shop with exclusive mechanics. It changes the city's geography right from setup — whoever controls it has an immediate positional advantage.
Parks & Crafts: a new arena
The neoprene playmat takes Flamecraft out of the traditional city. Dragons can use their fire up ability once per turn — a completely different pace.
Enhanced solo play
The new modules integrate perfectly with the base game's solo mode. Solo players will find here the long-term challenge that the base game alone couldn't offer.
How to win
Same base rules, new paths to victory
Victory conditions remain those of Flamecraft — but the modules open up strategic paths that didn't exist before.
Victory
- Accumulate more glory points than anyone else at the end of the game
- Utilize Upscale cards to multiply enchantment rewards
- Build the perfect artisan deck with the right Hydragons
Warning
- Requires the Flamecraft base game — it is not standalone
- Those who underestimate opponents' hybrid Hydragon abilities quickly lose ground
- Activating too many modules at once can overwhelm new players
Flamecraft: Dragons & Dragons is the expansion that transforms every game into a unique experiment. It doesn't add complexity — it adds possibilities.
Frequently asked questions
FAQ about Flamecraft: Dragons & Dragons
Is it compatible with all editions of Flamecraft?
Yes. Dragons & Dragons integrates with the standard version and the Deluxe Edition of the base game. The modules are designed to work with any components you already have — including miniatures and metal coins.
Can I use only some modules and not all of them?
Absolutely yes — that's the expansion's strength. Each module (Hydragons, Upscale, Parks & Crafts, Double Dragons, Companion, and Adventurers) is completely independent. You can activate them one at a time to gradually introduce novelty, or combine them all for the richest version.
Does it significantly increase complexity compared to the base game?
No. The turn structure remains identical to the base Flamecraft. Each module adds only one new rule — no more. Those already familiar with the base game can integrate the modules with 5 minutes of explanation. It is designed to expand without overwhelming.
What exactly are Hydragons?
They are hybrid dragons with dual nature — each combines two dragon types and has a unique "fire up" ability that activates once per game. They are shuffled into the artisan deck in groups of 6. With 15 cards, you get 15 different abilities, all designed to create new combinations every time.
Does it work well in solo play?
Yes. The modules integrate with the base game's solo mode without needing additional rules. Solo players will find a significantly higher level of challenge and variety in the Hydragons and Upscale cards compared to the base game.
Is it available in Italian?
This is the English edition. The mechanics are simple and the cards have short texts — advanced English is not necessary to play, but keep in mind that all materials are in English.
