FroGames — Moments You'll Remember
Every game is a raid. Build, plunder, burn. And in the end, nobody talks about the score — they're still talking about that move on the second turn.
What it's about
The most played mobile game in the world, finally on the tabletop
Clash of Clans has captured hundreds of millions of players on smartphones. Now Eric M. Lang — the designer of Blood Rage, Marvel: United, and XCOM — and Ken Gruhl bring it to the tabletop in a form no one expected: deep, chaotic, and impossible to stop playing.
Build your village by placing buildings and defensive structures, recruit your troops — Barbarians, Archers, Giants, Dragons, P.E.K.K.A. — and then launch the raid. The attack phase is simultaneous, unpredictable, devastating. Whoever accumulates enough stars wins, but many villages will be burned first.
This Collector's Edition takes everything to the max: 137 detailed plastic miniatures, deluxe tokens on every component, custom engraved dice. It's not just a game — it's a collector's item.
The secret of Clash of Clans in one sentence
A game that alternates the surgical calm of building with the electric chaos of raiding — and in both phases, every choice is yours.
From gameplay experience
Eric Lang has publicly stated: after all the playtesting, it's still one of his favorite games. Rarely does a designer remain in love with their own creations.
Notes from the designer — Gen Con 2025
Clash of Clans: The Epic Raid — CE
Your arsenal
What you control in each game
Your Village
You place tile after building: resources, defenses, upgrades. Each choice defines your engine — and the target you offer to opponents.
Your Troops
Barbarians, Archers, Giants, P.E.K.K.A., Dragons. Each unit has a role in the raid — and choosing the right composition is half the victory.
Your Builders
Pure worker placement: you place builders on actions, construct structures, unlock levels. The rising Town Hall opens new possibilities every time.
Victory Stars
You don't permanently destroy — you accumulate stars. Each successful raid brings points, resources, and bonuses. The race to 40 stars is ruthless and fast.
In a few hours, you will have burned a few villages, suffered a raid, turned a game around with the right combo. Clash of Clans: The Epic Raid leaves no one indifferent.

A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
Construction site opens
Tiles placed, builders ready, Town Hall at level 1. Everyone starts from the same point — but by the second placement, you know someone has a different strategy than yours. The village is a blank slate about to become very personal.
The first raid
Someone sends the Barbarians. Someone else waits with the Giant. Defenses hold — or almost. The first star is earned, nervous laughter, and thoughts of retaliation already begin. The game has truly begun.
The engine revs
The Town Hall has upgraded, buildings produce gold and elixir, stronger troops are available. Every action is worth more — and you can already tell who built well and who is vulnerable. Informal alliances at the table solidify. Briefly.
The Dragon enters the field
Someone has unlocked the Dragon — or the P.E.K.K.A. The raid that follows is memorable. Three structures down in a single attack, stars accumulated, bonuses collected. The table explodes. That story will be told for months.
Forty stars. End.
Someone reaches 40 stars — everything is counted, totals are compared. The winner has already forgotten the score — they're still talking about the Dragon on turn four. Everything is packed up, wondering when to play again.
How to play
The flow of each round
Two alternating phases — building and attacking. You learn in twenty minutes, you master in three games.
In order, each player places their builders on the central board actions: build buildings, upgrade the Town Hall, recruit troops, collect resources. Each spot is limited — others see you, you see others.
Built buildings generate gold and elixir each round. Upgrading the Town Hall unlocks advanced structures, more powerful defenses, and more devastating units. Your engine takes shape turn by turn.
Choose an opponent, choose your troops, roll the dice. Each destroyed structure earns stars and resources. The opponent's defenses fight back — but do not permanently damage your village. Raiding is pure gain or pure risk.
When a player reaches 40 stars, the current round ends, and all points are counted. The player with the most wins. Star accumulation is fast — the game never drags.
Why it's different from others
Six mechanics that make the difference
Engine building that comes to life
You don't build for abstract points — you build to launch better raids. Every building is a gear in an engine that you can see, touch, and that opponents try to sabotage.
Worker placement with real pressure
The spots on the board are limited. When someone snatches the action you wanted, you have to replan on the fly. Every turn is a silent negotiation.
Raids without permanent elimination
You attack other villages for stars — you don't destroy them forever. This means everyone stays in the game, everyone has something to lose and gain until the last round.
Troops that scale with the game
You start with Barbarians and Archers — you end with Dragons and P.E.K.K.A. The escalation is constant, each game culminates in increasingly spectacular and unpredictable raids.
Building synergies — the "busted combos"
The designer calls them that: combinations of buildings that boost each other in unexpected ways. Discovering them is half the fun. Experiencing them is frustrating and wonderful.
137 miniatures — the Collector's Edition counts
Deluxe tokens, engraved dice, detailed miniatures for every unit. This isn't the base version with a little extra — it's the version the game deserved from the start.
How it ends
A race for stars, not a war of attrition
You don't eliminate opponents — you accumulate stars. The strategy is yours: build a solid engine or go on the attack immediately?
Victory
- When a player reaches 40 stars (Victory Stars), the game end is triggered
- The current round is completed and all players' stars are counted
- The player with the highest score at the end of the last round wins
The failed raid
- If opponent's defenses repel your attack, you earn fewer stars than expected
- Resources spent on troops are still consumed — every raid is an investment
- No elimination: everyone stays in the game until the last round
Clash of Clans: The Epic Raid brings the same tension of the mobile game to the table — build, attack, adapt. The Collector's Edition does it with 137 miniatures and components that make every game a visual spectacle.
Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ about Clash of Clans: The Epic Raid
Do you need to know the mobile game to enjoy the board game?
No. The board game is completely standalone and can be learned without any knowledge of the mobile game. Those familiar with Clash of Clans will recognize characters and settings, but the mechanics are designed to work even for those who have never opened the app.
What truly distinguishes this Collector's Edition from the base game?
137 detailed plastic miniatures instead of tokens, 101 premium deluxe tokens for all components, and 7 custom engraved D6 dice. It's not a marginal aesthetic upgrade — it completely changes the table presence and the feeling of playing.
Is it suitable for those who don't often play board games?
With some reservations. The rules are explained in 20 minutes and the gameplay flow is intuitive — especially for those familiar with the mobile game. However, the presence of synergies between buildings and multiple tactical choices makes it more suitable for those who already have some experience. It is not a gateway game.
With how many players does it work best?
With 4 players, you experience maximum tension: more villages to raid, more interaction in worker placement, more chaos. With 2, the game is faster and more tactical. With 3, you find a good balance. The Clan War mode expands the game up to 6 players with a dedicated expansion.
Are there expansions?
Yes. Clan War is the main expansion: it increases the maximum number of players to 6, adds a 2v2v2 team mode, trap tokens with a bluff element, and spell cards that can be used on opponents' turns. The base game is complete — Clan War amplifies the scale.
Is it available in Italian?
This is the English edition. Icons and components are very visual — the game is accessible even without English proficiency, but cards and the rulebook are in English.
