FroGames — Moments You'll Remember
Your garden is already beautiful. But wait until you see it with a floral dragon among the flowers.
What it's about
A garden just waiting for the right dragons
In the world of Ghardinn exist extraordinary creatures: floral dragons, magical beings that embody the soul of flowers. None of them have chosen your garden as their home yet. It's time to change that.
In Botany: Floral Dragons by Amy and Dusty (Dux Somnium Games), you take on the role of a Victorian botanist on a global expedition. Manage your coins carefully, recruit companions, collect items, and face unexpected events — all while pursuing the dream of returning home with an enviable collection of floral dragons.
Each player starts with randomized objectives and traces their path to victory. When you return to your estate, you add dragons and garden improvements. The player who builds the most spectacular garden wins — but the path is full of dangers and difficult choices.
From the gaming experience
The moment your first floral dragon arrives in the garden is that quiet satisfaction that few games can provide.
The secret of Botany: Floral Dragons in one line
Managing coins well is everything — overspending early means not having enough to return home with your specimens.
From the gaming experience
Botany: Floral Dragons
The solo experience maintains all the tension of resource management — pursuing your objectives without external interference is meditative and fulfilling.
What you bring on expedition
Every botanist's tools
Randomized Objectives
Each game begins with a unique set of objectives. No two strategies are the same — the path to victory is built in real-time.
Coin Management
Coins are the central resource. Use them to move, recruit crew, and buy items — but you need to save enough to return home.
Expedition Events
The world is full of dangers and surprises. Unexpected events test your preparedness and can overturn the best plans.
Garden and Dragons
Each return home adds floral dragons and garden improvements. Points accumulate turn by turn — building the most beautiful garden is the true victory.
Bountiful Blossom Mini Expansion included
Those who purchase now receive the Bountiful Blossom mini-expansion for free — available only to early buyers during the launch. An exclusive gift for those who don't wait.
Your garden is ready. The floral dragons await you somewhere in the world. It's up to you to find them.

A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
The garden watches you and waits
Objectives distributed, coins counted, map prepared. You look at your estate — empty, neat, silent. You already know that something extraordinary awaits you at the end of this expedition. First, however, it's time to set off.
The first difficult choices
You have enough coins to reach that distant region, but recruiting the right crew would leave you with little for the return journey. You look at the objectives. You calculate. And in the end you choose — hoping the danger is less than it seems.
An event changes everything
The corruption of the Pleurossa spreads faster than expected. A dragon that seemed friendly turns out to be wary. An item bought for safety proves useless — you should have bought the other one. The world of Ghardinn does not forgive distraction.
The first floral dragon
After weeks of travel, you're here. The dragon watches you with curiosity — it's not hostile, but it's not yet convinced. You use everything you've prepared. And it works. You add it to your collection. You return home with something precious — and with the desire to go back and look for more.
The garden comes to life
You're back. The floral dragons settle among the flowerbeds. The garden is no longer the same as when you left. You count the points, you look at what others have built. Then someone suggests starting again immediately — with new objectives, a different route, other dragons to find.
How to play
The flow of each turn
Four intuitive phases that can be learned in a few minutes. The depth comes later — when you truly understand how to manage coins.
Each turn you decide where to move on the global map. Each movement costs coins — move towards dragons that match your objectives, but don't run out of reserves for the return trip.
During the expedition you encounter random events: storms, Pleurossa corruption, hostile dragons. The crew and items you've collected determine how you fare.
When you reach a dragon compatible with your objectives, you can try to earn its trust. This only happens if you have prepared the expedition well — dragons recognize those who have put in the effort.
When you return, you add the dragons and improvements to the garden, earn points, and replenish your reserves. Then you set off again — with new objectives, new routes, new dragons to find.
Why it's different from others
Six reasons to embark on an expedition
Ever-changing objectives
Each game begins with randomized objectives that change the optimal path. There is no dominant strategy — there are only better choices at that specific moment.
Resource management tension
Coins are limited. Spending too much to reach a distant region means not being able to return with specimens. The tension between ambition and prudence is the heart of the game.
Dragons with their own personality
Not all floral dragons welcome you with enthusiasm. Some are wary, others hostile. Every encounter is a story to tell — and a problem to solve.
The garden grows game after game
Every return home transforms the estate. You're not just collecting points — you're building something visible, tangible, yours. The garden at the end tells the story of how you played.
Illustrations by Kin Wald
Each floral dragon is a work of art in itself. Kin Wald's linocut illustrations give the game a unique visual identity — it's one of those games people notice on the table before even asking you for the rules.
Complete and satisfying solo play
The solo mode is not a fallback — it's a designed experience. Pursuing your objectives without external interference has a meditative rhythm that works great alone.
How it ends
Whoever has the most spectacular garden wins
It's not enough to have many dragons — you need the right garden, built with the right choices. The score tells how you played.
Victory
- Accumulate the most points among all players
- Points come from dragons residing in the garden and built improvements
- Objectives achieved during the expedition contribute to the final score
Defeat
- Running out of coins during the expedition severely limits options
- Failing to return with dragons means lost points permanently
- Ignoring Pleurossa's corruption can close entire paths on the map
Botany: Floral Dragons is one of those games that leaves you with something even when you lose — because the next expedition is already there, ready to await you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Botany: Floral Dragons FAQ
Is it different from the original Botany or is it the same thing with dragons?
Botany: Floral Dragons is a standalone game — you don't need to own the original Botany. It shares the Victorian setting and botanical theme, but introduces floral dragons as a central element and requires a specific campaign design for this experience. Those who already own Botany will find a complementary game, not a replacement.
Is coin management too punitive for casual players?
No. The system is intuitive — you always know how many coins you have and how much each action costs. The learning curve is about understanding how much to keep in reserve, not how the system works. After the first game it becomes natural, and the mistake of spending too much in the first session is part of the experience.
Is the Bountiful Blossom mini-expansion already included?
Yes. Those who purchase on FroGames during the launch period receive the Bountiful Blossom mini-expansion included in the box, at no additional cost. After launch, this promotion will no longer be available — it's an exclusive benefit for early buyers.
Does it play well solo?
Yes, and it's a carefully designed mode. In solo play, you focus on your own path without the variable of other players — all the tension shifts to resource management and objective achievement. Those who love solo management games will find a complete and satisfying experience.
Does it play well at all player counts?
With 1-2 players, the experience is more meditative and strategic — every choice weighs more. With 3-5 players, competition for dragons and routes increases, making planning more dynamic. The game is balanced for all counts, but groups of 3-4 tend to find the ideal balance between strategy and interaction.
Is it available in Italian?
This is the English edition. The mechanics rely more on symbols and icons than on extensive text — the language barrier is contained. The rulebook is in English, but the game remains accessible even to those with a basic knowledge of the language.
