At Billabong you don't run:jumps.

It's a race around the billabong's body of water, where each player leads a team of five kangaroos determined to cross the finish line first.

The board is a chessboard.

Kangaroos are athletic pawns.

And every move is a challenge of precision: a jump too short stops you, one too long sends you off course.

The setup: five kangaroos, a starting line, and plenty of air under their paws.

At the beginning you position your five kangaroos behind the current line.

That's both the start and the finish line: your ride begins there and will end there… if you're good enough to do so.

The heart of the game:masterful mathematical leaps

The basic move is simple: make one of your kangaroos jump over another kangaroo (yours or your opponent's) and land exactly where it is.mirror distance.

If the kangaroo you have to jump over is 5 spaces away from you…

you land 5 spaces further.

Always in a straight line: orthogonal or diagonal.

A leap → clear.

The magic comes here:

you can chain multiple jumps in the same move, until:

  every jump is in line,
  
• 
  you only jump one kangaroo at a time,
  
• 
  do not cross the central billabong.
  

It's a puzzle of trajectories, a geometric ballet, a dance of millimetric paw strokes.

Micro-moves: One step to prepare for a super-jump

If you can't jump, you can only move one space.

It's the “boring move”, but often necessary to set up the perfect jump for the next turn.

Billabong rewards cunning: every piece can become a trampoline for you… or an obstacle for others.

Victory: Five kangaroos around the lake

The goal is to make it happena complete lapto the billabong with all five pieces.

The first player to get their entire team across the finish line wins.

And yes, the final turns are a pure race of perfect interlockings, desperate jumps, and diagonal lines that you only see after you've already shouted "MY TURN!".
