FroGames — Moments You'll Remember
A crab steals everything from you. An octopus changes the rules. A turtle gets its revenge. And in 15 minutes, you start all over again.
What it's about
The ocean floor is full of thieves
Bag & Snatch: Ocean Turmoil is the second expansion to the Bag & Snatch system by David Spada and Nestore Mangone, published by Deer Games Studio. Four new marine animals — shark, turtle, octopus, and crab — bring unique abilities that mix up every game.
The mechanism is elegant: players use cards to steal tokens from the central board, divided into four animal groups. The more tokens of a type you accumulate, the more points you earn each turn. But beware — if an animal's reserves run out, whoever has those tokens returns them all, losing accumulated points.
Compatible with all Bag & Snatch system games, Ocean Turmoil works both standalone and in combination. Fifteen minutes of pure opportunistic strategy, for all ages.
The gaming experience
Each animal has an ability that can make the game explode in a second — and nobody saw the octopus's coming.
The secret of Ocean Turmoil in one line
In 15 minutes you laugh, get angry, and immediately shuffle the cards again. It's truly the game that makes you say "just one more."
From the gaming experience
Bag & Snatch: Ocean Turmoil
Works as a score challenge against yourself. It loses the spark of interpersonal chaos, but it's a good way to learn animal abilities before playing in a group.
Your arsenal
Four predators, four playstyles
Each Ocean Turmoil animal has a unique ability. The right — or wrong — combination changes everything in one turn.
The Shark
Fast and direct. Its ability hits opponents immediately — no warning, no negotiation.
The Turtle
Slow but relentless. It has defensive resources that can turn desperate situations around at the right moment.
The Octopus
The wild card of the deck. Its ability changes the rules of the table — often in ways no one expected.
The Crab
Lateral and opportunistic. It grabs tokens when everyone is looking away — and then holds onto them longer than others.
In fifteen minutes, you'll already have a story to tell. With Bag & Snatch: Ocean Turmoil, it always happens that way.

A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
Ready, set, go — tokens scattered on the table
Shuffle the cards, distribute the tokens in the center, everyone chooses their animal. In two minutes, the game has already begun. Someone is already looking at which tokens are worth taking first. Someone else waits to see what the others do.
The first low blow
Someone plays a card and activates an ability no one expected. Tokens shift, strategies crumble, someone curses under their breath. And the game isn't even on its third card. You immediately get a sense of what kind of evening it will be.
The reserve is about to run out
One type of token is almost gone. Whoever bet everything on that animal must decide: continue accumulating and risk losing everything, or change strategy on the fly? Breaths shorten. Someone stares intently at the table.
The reserve empties — and someone loses everything
It happens. The reserve runs out, tokens go back. Whoever accumulated the most loses the most. There's a moment of silence — then laughter. Or protests. Or both. This is the moment people talk about for weeks.
Game over. Shuffle immediately.
Points are counted. Someone wins, but everyone is already thinking about what to do differently next round. In 15 minutes, it's already time to start over — and usually that's exactly what happens.
How to play
The flow of each round
Four quick phases. You learn in two minutes, you master it during the first game.
In turn order, each player plays a card from their hand. The card indicates which group of tokens they can attempt to collect this turn.
Each animal has a unique ability that activates automatically. The shark attacks, the octopus rearranges, the turtle defends, the crab quietly accumulates.
Take the available tokens of the type indicated by your card. The more of one type you accumulate, the more points you earn each turn — but pay attention to the reserves on the table.
If an animal's reserve runs out, all players who have those tokens return them and lose the corresponding points. The risk of pushing too hard is always present.
Why it's different from others
Six mechanics that make a difference
Push-your-luck with real consequences
It's not just "take it or leave it". If a reserve collapses, you lose everything you've accumulated of that type. The decision to push carries a concrete risk every turn.
Four animals, four styles
Each Ocean Turmoil animal has an ability that changes the game's pace. No one has the same approach — and the combination at the table changes everything every game.
Compatible with the entire system
Ocean Turmoil combines with other Bag & Snatch sets. Each combination changes the pool of available abilities and creates a different game every time.
15 minutes, zero downtime
There are no slow phases. Each player acts quickly, every ability changes the table in real time. From setup to finish: no waiting time.
Official solo mode
The game includes support for those who want to play alone. A progressive scoring challenge against the game's mechanics — ideal for learning abilities before challenging friends.
Bilingual edition
Text in English and Italian. Compact and visual rules — you learn in two minutes regardless of language. Accessible to all, no barriers.
How it ends
One way to win, one way to lose everything
The right strategy is to accumulate enough — but not too much. The line between first and last place shifts every turn.
Victory
- Accumulate more points than opponents at the end of the game
- Points are calculated from tokens collected for each animal type
- Those who diversify risk better survive the reserve turnarounds
The Turnaround
- A reserve runs out and all tokens of that type return to the center
- Whoever bet everything on that animal loses the corresponding points
- There are no guaranteed recoveries — you have to rebuild from scratch
Bag & Snatch: Ocean Turmoil is the card game that kicks off game nights — and makes you say "just one more" even after the fifth game.
Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ about Bag & Snatch: Ocean Turmoil
Can you play without the base game?
Yes. Ocean Turmoil is a standalone expansion — it contains everything you need to play alone. You don't need the first Bag & Snatch to start. By purchasing the other sets of the system, you can combine them to create games with ever-changing ability pools.
Is it suitable for those who never play games?
Yes, and it's one of its strengths. The rules are explained in two minutes, the first game flows naturally. Push-your-luck is one of the most immediate mechanisms out there — you quickly understand how much to risk, without needing prior experience.
How many players does it work best with?
With 3-4 players, you find the sweet spot: enough chaos to make abilities unpredictable, enough tension over reserves to create memorable moments. With 2, it's more tactical and controlled. With 5, the chaos increases — and so does the laughter.
How does compatibility with other sets work?
Each set in the Bag & Snatch system introduces new animals with unique abilities. You can combine them freely: choose which animals to include before each game. The more sets are combined, the more variable the pool of available abilities becomes, and the more new game patterns emerge.
Are there other sets in the Bag & Snatch system?
Yes. Ocean Turmoil is the second expansion of the system. The game is designed to grow set by set — each addition brings new animals with abilities that interact with all those already available.
Are the rules in Italian?
Yes. This edition is bilingual English/Italian — the rulebook is available in both languages. The cards and tokens are pictographic, making them easy to understand regardless of language.
