Super Boss Monster is a board game (1–4) that takes Boss Monster “to the next gen”: build the ultimate side-scrolling video game-style dungeon, lure unwary heroes and blast them to pieces… before they go shopping elsewhere.
The beauty is the tactical arcade feel: you want the right rooms, the right damage, and the perfect timing to attract the adventurers you need. And yes: take thats and laughs fly at the table, because no one wants to leave you with the final boss.
The big new feature is the Town Board : random draws give way to a more controllable draft . Heroes arrive in the city, but if there are too many, they "overflow" into locations like the Temple, Stadium, Library, Hide-Out, and Tavern. You manage them with a new Minion meeple : you use it to direct a hero into your dungeon, or you place it to activate alternative action spaces.
The Town Board also unlocks a true solo board game mode: you try to attract and defeat as many heroes as possible, but if too many of them accumulate in the town… they flee to the Tavern and the game is over. Plus, it's 100% compatible with all previous Boss Monster cards, and as a standalone game, it includes everything for 1–4 players.
