Game of combinations, token power-ups and hand management.
1) Each player starts with cards + tokens: the goal is to stay in the game as long as possible.
At the beginning everyone receivesa random hand of cardsAndsome tokens.
During the round, the game is played in the center of the table, formingincreasing combinations: those who cannot or do not want to play, pay in tokens.
When someone stayswithout cards or tokens, the situation becomes critical.
2) On your turn you can only make one choice: play cards or return 2 tokens
The shift is simple but strategic:
If you play, you must create a valid combination (e.g. singles, pairs or multiples of the same value)stronger than the last play.
If you can't or don't want to,return 2 tokens to the reserve.
Running out of tokens leaves you exposed and drastically limited in your future choices.
3) Cards are powered up using magic tokens
The peculiarity of Golem It: you canchange the value of the cardsusing tokens.
The operation depends on thepaper color:
CardsRed→ each token adds+1to the value
CardsYellow→ each tokendoubles its value
Example:7 red + 2 tokens = 9
And4 yellow + 2 tokens = 8
Result →you can transform different cards into an identical and stronger combination.
4) If you play, you must surpass the previous combination
If there is, for example, on the table,a pair of 8s, you can play:
Pair of 9
Pair of 10
Pair of any higher value
Equivalent superior combination(if the regulation allows it)
Ifall players passbelow, who played lastcleans up the centerAnddecides the new combinationopening.
5) End of round and victory
When a playerfinish the cards, wins the roundor obtains a significant advantage (depending on the modality adopted).
If playing multiple rounds, the final score or finish line varies according to the table rules.
The skill is in theoptimize cards + tokensto create combos that seemed impossible.
