You've just caught your fourth octopus. It's worth a fortune. But only if you bring it ashore. And only if all four arrive alive. You look at the dice. You look at the lake. You look at the dog you brought with you.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT
The expansion that brings cursed fishing to the inland
Even Deeper Regrets is the major expansion for Deep Regrets, the game by Judson Cowan (designer and artist) that brings Lovecraftian horror into dice push-your-luck. Published by Tettix Games in 2026 after a Kickstarter campaign, it adds 191 new creatures (117 marine + 74 freshwater), 25 new dinks, and an entire inland map: rivers and lakes where fishing is riskier, and rewards are higher.
Each day you choose where to start: at the port, offshore, or inland. If you go to the rivers or the Loch, you fish from shoals with more extreme risk/reward ratios. You collect sets of increasingly strange fish, manage pets that help you (but which you can lose), discover octopuses that are worth more for every other octopus in play. And as always: every dice roll can be the last before you lose everything.
What they say abroad
The game is still in development; this sheet reflects early Kickstarter materials and will be updated post-release.

Even Deeper Regrets
The game natively supports solo play from the base game: you fish against score and collection objectives, without an automa. The expansion adds more variety of creatures and locations, making solo play even deeper. It only loses the thrill of seeing others risk too much.
What you find inland
The new cursed fishing grounds
River Shoals
Three new freshwater shoals where you catch rarer and more dangerous creatures. Higher risk/reward ratio than the sea: you pay more to enter, but sets are worth double. If you can hold your dice.
Loch
A single deep, dark shoal. Here the fish are legendary, the dinks nastier, and the temptation to stay one turn too long is fatal. It's where you go to win or lose everything.
Pyramid Octopuses
New mechanic: each octopus you catch is worth more for every other octopus on the table (yours or others'). A self-feeding collection, but only if you manage to bring them all ashore without sinking.
Pets
New equipment type: pets that give you persistent benefits (extra rerolls, protection, fishing bonuses). They stay with you until you sink. When you lose them at sea, it really hurts.

How to play
The daily fishing routine
Each round is a day: choose where to go, roll the dice, decide whether to stop or continue. When you exit (or sink), it's the next player's turn.
Start of the day: decide whether to depart from the Port (safe), go to Sea (classic), or Inland (rivers or Loch, high risk). Pay the entry fee if applicable.
Roll the dice, read the results: catch creatures, get dinks (negative), or activate abilities. Each fish symbol corresponds to a card you draw from your location's shoal.
After each roll, you can exit and secure what you've caught, or re-roll to catch more. But if you roll a cursed symbol (or accumulate too many dinks), you lose everything and return empty-handed.
When you exit (voluntarily or sunk), the turn passes. Saved fish go into your collection, sets are completed, octopuses are tallied. Then it starts again: a new day, a new choice of where to go.

A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
Choosing the location
Start of the day: ports, sea, or inland? Everyone looks at the map, assessing the risks. Someone goes safely to the port. Someone immediately aims for the Loch. You take your dog and head to the rivers. You roll the first dice. You start fishing.
The first strange fish
You've caught two regular creatures and one you've never seen before. It's worth a lot. You re-roll. Another one appears. Now you have a set. But the dice say you must exit. You look at the table: another player has just lost everything. You decide to stop. For now.
Someone discovers the octopuses
Mid-game, a player catches their third octopus. It's worth a fortune because there are already two others on the table. Everyone understands: octopuses are the key. The race begins. You haven't caught any yet. You need to enter the Loch.
One roll too many
You are in the Loch. You have four rare fish, an octopus, your dog still alive. You re-roll. The cursed symbol appears. You can use your pet to save yourself. You use it. But on the next roll, you'll have no protection. You re-roll anyway. You lose everything, dog included. Silence at the table.
Final tally
Those who played it safe have safe points. Those who risked are either rich or at zero. Octopuses are worth triple for those who collected them. The winner is whoever knew to stop one turn before disaster. You're already talking about the next game.

Good to know beforehand
Three things you need to know
Base game required
This is a standalone expansion: you can mix its content with the Deep Regrets base game or play only with Even Deeper Regrets, but to truly understand the impact of the addition (new locations, new risks), it is highly recommended to have already played the base game. Without context, the hinterland is just "one more place."
Increased game length
With 5 players and the inland area in play, games can reach 150 minutes. The downtime between turns is noticeable: while one player is fishing and re-rolling, the others are waiting. If your group prefers a faster pace, play with 2-3 players.
Pets break your heart
Pets are mechanically useful (they save you from disasters), but emotionally devastating when you lose them at sea. This is not a design flaw, it's a feature: the game wants you to get attached. If you can't handle the gaming grief, leave the pets in the box.
🏆Victory and defeatWhat the ending rewards▼
How it ends
How to win and how to sink
The player with the most points at the end of the designated days wins. But you only score points with the fish you bring to shore, not with those you sink.
Victory
- Complete sets of creatures of the same type (more fish = exponential)
- Collect octopuses: each octopus counts for all other octopuses on the table
- Catch rare creatures from the inland (Loch and rivers give double points)
Sinking
- Roll a cursed symbol on the dice and have no active protections
- Accumulate too many dinks (negative cards) while fishing without neutralizing them
- Lose everything you caught that turn, including pets and bonuses
It's a game where you win by remembering when to stop, and lose by forgetting that the sea (and the lake) are unforgiving. The expansion adds geography, not complexity: more places to risk, same pulsating heart of Lovecraftian push-your-luck.

FAQ about Even Deeper Regrets
Is the base game required to play Even Deeper Regrets?
No, it is technically standalone: you can play with just this box. But the full experience involves mixing content with the base game (191+117 total fish). If you are not familiar with Deep Regrets, we recommend starting with the base game: the expansion adds depth to a system you should already know.
What is the difference between Sea and Inland?
The Sea (from the base game) has shoals with a balanced risk/reward ratio. The Inland (rivers and Loch) has higher entry costs, rarer creatures, and nastier dinks: you risk more, you win more. The Loch in particular is where you go to finish the game or to spectacularly sink.
How do pyramid octopuses work?
Each octopus you catch is worth more for every other octopus on the table, including those of your opponents. If there are 4 octopuses in total in play, each one is worth 4 points. It's a mechanic that creates a race: when someone starts catching octopuses, everyone else wants to do the same to take advantage of the multiplier.
What mechanics does Even Deeper Regrets use?
Push-your-luck via dice rolling, with re-rolling and locking mechanics (you can lock some dice and re-roll others) and set collection (you collect creatures by type). The expansion adds multiple locations and persistent pets, but the core remains the classic "re-roll or exit?" of the base game.
Is it available in Italian?
No, this edition is in English. The game has text on the cards (creature names, equipment effects, pet abilities), so knowledge of English is necessary. There are currently no announced Italian editions.
