Around five thousand years ago, a tenacious community of farmers and hunters built a settlement on the Orkney Islands, in northern Scotland. In Skara Brae, you'll take command of a prehistoric tribe, trying to feed, clothe, and protect your settlers while building, cooking, trading, and managing waste (the infamous middens ).
Each round forces you to make critical decisions : gather resources, assign tasks to your workers, and try to grow your community… without letting it collapse!

🐸 HOW TO PLAY
Resource and settler management
In Skara Brae, players lead a tribe of farmers and hunters. The goal is to gather resources to feed, clothe, and house a growing number of settlers. However, accumulating too many resources can generate "middens," waste that takes up valuable space and reduces victory points at the end of the game.
Drafting of worker cards and actions
Each round consists of three turns. In each turn, players select a card from a common valley and then use their workers to perform actions on their personal board. Cards can represent settlers of different categories or buildings that provide bonuses and victory points.
Available actions
The personal board offers ten actions, nine common to all players and a tenth unique to each. Actions include gathering resources, preparing food, clearing waste, and building structures. Efficiency in choosing and executing actions is crucial to success.
Feeding and maintaining the settlers
At the end of each round, you must provide food or shelter to each colonist. If these needs are not met, the colonists are lost. This mechanism adds constant pressure to resource management and action planning.
Solo mode and objectives
Skara Brae offers a solo mode where the player attempts to reach a minimum score of 45 points by tackling both main and secondary objectives. The mode is free of complex automatons, making for a fluid experience focused on personal strategy.
