After the mysterious conflict known as the "One Day War," civilization has collapsed. Cities lie in ruins, resources are scarce, and mutated gangs are rampaging. In Resurgence , you lead a faction of survivors attempting to rebuild a future from the rubble of Moscow. Strength and courage alone will require more than just planning, resources, and strategic choices to lead your people to resurgence.
Each turn, you secretly decide where to place your workers drawn from the bag, with missions to complete, materials to collect, survivors to rescue, and bases to develop. But beware: everything is shared, and your plans may be thwarted by other leaders seeking glory. And with ever-changing end-game objectives, every game will be a new challenge.

1. A world in ruins, a hope among the rubble.
In Resurgence , you take on the role of a post-apocalyptic leader , leading a small band of survivors. After the devastating "One Day War," it's up to you to rebuild your existence in the ruins of Moscow, trying to build a future amidst freezing temperatures, famine, mutants, and a fragmented humanity.
2. A bag full of decisions.
The core of the game is a hidden bag-building experience : each round, you draw workers from your bag and secretly place them on a planning board, deciding where to act. Areas of the city are contested, and those who plan best gain access to vital missions, scarce resources, and opportunities for salvation.
3. Missions, resources and strategic tension.
As the map fills with dangers and opportunities, you'll be able to collect fuel, food, and mechanical parts , but also rescue other survivors and teach them new skills. The choices are often difficult: do you strengthen your shelter or take on riskier missions to increase your influence in the chaos?
4. Build your shelter, train your people.
Your personal board represents the survivors' base , which you can expand turn after turn with special modules and new technologies. Synergies between missions, abilities, and placements lead to tangible growth, while end-of-round events add unexpected challenges and ongoing tension.
5. Only one will lead Hope Island.
At the end of the game, the most influential leader—the one who best managed his group, his bag, and the map —will unite the survivors under a single banner, becoming the leader of hope in the new world. And diplomacy certainly won't decide the winner...

We put Resurgence to the test… and it surprised us.
It's one of those games that rewards good planning, but doesn't forgive hesitation . The hidden worker system had us gritting our teeth at every turn ("Will he go there or not?").
The production is excellent, the setting feels strong— dystopian yet believable —and the Directive cards open up different paths for each game.
It won us over with its depth, tension, and fluidity . And if you also like a solo challenge, you'll find a really tough one here. 🐸💥
