🐸 HOW TO PLAY
1. An animal kingdom to be united through diplomacy.
In For Northwood!, you are a skilled negotiator, determined to peacefully unify the kingdom by visiting the eight animal fiefdoms and earning the trust of their rulers. Each encounter is a game of trick-taking, and each ruler has unique rules and objectives you must meet to join your cause.
2. An eight-round journey.
The game lasts eight rounds, each dedicated to a different fiefdom. The suit of the current ruler becomes the trump suit, but winning the most tricks isn't enough: you must win exactly the number required by the ruler. Getting too many tricks wrong, either too many or too few, means losing that ruler's alliance.
3. Your allies, your ace in the hole.
You start with four allies, each with a special ability that can be used only once per visit. They can help you draw, discard, or manipulate your hand to get the right number of tricks. After conquering a ruler, you can temporarily use him in place of an ally to adapt your strategy to more complex challenges.
4. Increasing difficulty and infinite variety.
Each new fiefdom visited narrows the options available, making decisions increasingly difficult. With 24 different rulers, multiple difficulty levels, and a book with 16 special scenarios, each game presents a new and challenging puzzle to solve.
5. A solitary challenge of precision and strategy.
