The leviathans have lost control and the world has stopped breathing. In Leviathan Wilds you and your team don't go out to "kill the boss": Go save him . Scale colossal creatures, break the crystals that bind them. and bring them back to peace… before they throw you away.
Every game is a real climb: you move on the body of the leviathan, choose when to climb, jump or glide, and manage your action points as the massive creature retaliates with devastating attacks. It’s a tense, tactical co-op game full of “ok, now who’s going to sacrifice themselves?”
The heart of the game is the spiral storybook : spectacular maps that bring to life 17 leviathans , each with its own rules and challenges. Replayable scenarios, increasing difficulty and that sense of discovery that makes you say: “one more round… and then that’s it” (spoiler: it’s not enough).

Rigiocabilissimo, grazie anche alle numerose varianti e alla modalità in singolo.
E c'è pure il QR con la colonna sonora rilassante creata dall'autore!
Piccola espansione che arricchisce ancora di più un gioco già estremamente valido!

Regole molto semplici ma anche molto divertenti. C’è inevitabilmente una componente di fortuna perché riesci a pescare in base ai dadi e alle carte che ti capitano ma credo sia ancora più divertente adattare la propria strategia in base a quello che il destino ti porta, cercando di pescare il pesce (orrido) migliore senza cadere nei meandri della tua follia
2000 combinazioni con cui divertirsi a trovare il colpevole, una partita tira l'altra ed è perfetto anche per i bambini (e utile anche per insegnare loro qualche parola in inglese).
Grazie ad alcuni consigli mi sono deciso a prendere questo gioco in solitario nonostante fossi titubante. Devo dire che è stato davvero un gran bel passatempo, di quelli che ti metti al tavolo a fine giornata per svuotare il cervello dopo una giornata pesante e dedicarlo alle carte davanti a te per cercare di incastrare al meglio i punti, le risorse e potenziamenti. La prima partita devo dire che è stata un po' difficoltosa e ho dovuto leggere piu' volte la pagina bgg e anche quella ufficiale e purtroppo qualche regola l'ho sbagliata ma a fine partita me ne è importato davvero poco perchè mi ha dato una gran bella soddisfazione. Parti con 10 carte e ad ogni turno dovrai girarne 4 e dovrai decidere tra prendere risorse, fare un upgrade della carta, fare l'effetto della carta, prendere altre 2 carte. Pian pianino il tuo mazzo migliorerà e aumenterà e scoprirai 2 nuove carte ogni nuovo Round fino ad arrivare alla nr.70 che conclude il gioco. Il gioco va avanti che è una meraviglia e ti prende davvero tanto. Se vi da fastidio che sia fatto con l'IA lasciate perdere.
Sono stato incuriosito dalla recensione in tana del gioco ed ho chiesto di recuperarlo su Froghunt. Che dire, è un family curato in tutti i dettagli che però può contemporaneamente essere un ottimo filler per giocatori esperti visto che il gioco ti pone continuamente di fronte a scelte sofferte. Piaciuto a tutti quelli con cui l'ho provato.
Gioco molto carino, ma la versione base ti mette l'acquolina in bocca...bisogna recuperare le espansioni x avere una esperienza completa.
Da prendere anche solo per aver la modalità solitario per un gioco che con poco ti da tanto. TOP!

🐸 COME SI GIOCA
1. Choose a character and climb the leviathan.
Each player chooses a Climber with unique abilities and a personal deck of multipurpose cards. The board is a double-page spiral-bound gamebook , representing the body of a colossal leviathan. The goal is to work together to remove all the binding crystals and save the creature.
2. Play cards to move, climb, and glide.
Each turn is based on a card played that determines the available action points , which are used to scale the monster's body on a square grid . The cards allow movement, jumping, gliding, or special actions. But be careful: your deck also represents the character's resistance .
3. Manage your grip and fall risk.
If you run out of deck, you lose your grip and plummet off the leviathan, unless you manage to reach a rest area , which regenerates cards and saves your climb. Some slots reduce health, grip, or increase corruption (blight), putting a severe strain on your team.
4. The Leviathan reacts: every turn is a threat.
At the start of each turn, the Leviathan draws an event card from its deck: targeted attacks, shocks, displacements, or environmental effects will put the Climbers in crisis. Over time, the Leviathan accumulates Rage , making events increasingly dangerous. It's a cooperative, narrative board game that evolves dynamically.
5. Destroy the crystals before it's too late.
To win, you must reach the crystals on the map and reduce their resistance to zero , using actions and abilities synergistically. The game ends with the Leviathan's rescue... or the team's downfall. An intense challenge, ideal for those looking for a strategic board game for 1-4 players , with campaign progression and a strong setting.

Leviathan Wilds is a cooperative board game for 1-4 players , blending deck management, grid-based movement, and scenario strategy into a deep and visually stunning narrative experience.

We knew the aesthetic was strong, but we didn't expect such fluid, tactical, and satisfying gameplay.
The grab system (i.e. managing the deck as physical resistance) is a brilliant idea , and puts you under constant pressure without becoming punishing.
Each leviathan is different, and the fact that you fight not to destroy, but to heal , gives a rare and fascinating flavor to the whole experience.
If you like themed games with grid movement, you will fall in love with every page.
