The FroGames Card
The screenwriter has been murdered. You don't know who the culprit is in the film you're shooting. You have to figure it out as you film, scene by scene, placing dice on the set to rule out suspects. Eventually, you'll figure out who the killer is. Maybe.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT
Shoot a mystery without knowing who the killer is
The Murder Mystery Story Pack is a mini-expansion for Roll Camera!, the cooperative filmmaking game by Malachi Ray Rempen and Velgus (published by Keen Bean Studio). This expansion brings the whodunnit theme to the table: your film's screenwriter has been murdered, and the only thing worse is that you don't know who the culprit is in the story you have to film.
On the table, the mechanic adds 15 Suspect cards and a spatial puzzle: by placing Camera dice on the set during filming, you progressively eliminate suspects until only the killer remains. The pack includes 10 new mystery-themed Scenes, 3 Ideas, 3 Problems, and an Equipment card, all backward compatible with the base game. It can be played as a standalone module or mixed with other expansions.

— Brieger Creative
This Story Pack adds thematic challenge without bogging down the core rules. The spatial suspect puzzle forces you to think about dice placement in a new way, integrating deduction and optimization. It doesn't revolutionize Roll Camera, it enriches it.

Roll Camera!: Murder Mystery Story Pack
The base game supports official solo play with an automa and dedicated rules. The Murder Mystery Pack integrates perfectly: you manage all dice placement decisions to rule out suspects. It loses the cooperative discussion, but the spatial puzzle remains intact.
What's in the pack
32 cards and an investigation grid
10 Mystery-themed Scenes
Interrogations, chases, revelations. Each scene has filming requirements that help (or complicate) the elimination of suspects.
15 Suspect cards
Butler, detective, heiress. Each has a position on the grid: by placing Camera dice correctly, you exclude them from the list.
Backdrop strips
Two backdrop strips to insert on the set grid that determine which suspects you eliminate based on dice placement.
Ideas, Problems, Equipment
7 new cards that interact with the suspect mechanic, all backward compatible with the rest of Roll Camera.

🎲How to PlayThe rules in four steps▼
How to Play
The flow of each round
The Murder Mystery Pack adds one rule to the basic flow of Roll Camera: during filming, placing dice eliminates suspects.
As in the base game: you roll the crew dice, assign them to actions (set building, pitching ideas, problem-solving). Nothing changes here.
When filming a scene, place the Camera dice on the set grid. Backdrop strips show which suspects you eliminate based on where you place the dice.
Compare Camera dice positions with backdrop strips. Discard eliminated Suspect cards. Get closer to the final culprit.
Flip the scene card, update quality and budget. Continue until you've filmed all scenes or run out of time/money.

A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
Setup: who is the culprit?
Draw 15 Suspect cards, place the backdrop strips on the set. Read the first scene to film: an interrogation in the villa. Look at each other. You don't know who the killer is. You'll have to figure it out by filming.
First takes, first eliminations
Place the first Camera dice on the set. The grid speaks: three suspects eliminated. The butler, the heiress, the gardener. Twelve remain. Film the scene, discuss who the killer in your story might be.
Budget drops, doubts grow
Mid-game. You're low on budget, a Problem arrives: lead actor is sick. You must solve it and continue to eliminate suspects. Every misplaced die is a lost turn. Tension rises.
Final scene: three suspects remain
Last scene to film. Three suspects still on the list. You frantically discuss how to place the dice to eliminate two of them. Someone proposes a risky move. It works. One remains: the detective. He was the culprit.
Roll credits
Count quality points, check the budget. You made it. The film is complete. Tell the story of your whodunnit using the filmed scenes. The killer detective makes everyone laugh. Game over, memory created.
🐸Before You PlayThree honest things, from friends▼
Before You Play
Three things to consider
Base game required
This is a pack, not standalone. You must own Roll Camera to play. If you don't have it, consider the base game or the B-Movie expansion which includes more content.
Adds mild complexity
The suspect puzzle is an additional rule. It doesn't slow down the game but adds a layer of decision-making: each die placement now has a dual function (filming scenes + eliminating suspects). If Roll Camera already feels dense to you, evaluate this.
Strong theme, integrated mechanic
Not all thematic packs work. This one does: spatial deduction feels like an investigation. But if you prefer the pure chaos of basic Roll Camera, the whodunnit might feel like a narrative contrivance.
🏆Victory and DefeatWhat the ending rewards▼
How it ends
How to win and how to lose
The victory and defeat conditions remain those of the base game, with the addition of the solved mystery.
Victory
- Film all 5 scenes required by the script
- Final film quality above the minimum threshold
- You have eliminated enough suspects to identify the final culprit (optional narrative)
Defeat
- Budget zeroed out before completing all scenes
- Time ran out (too many turns wasted without filming)
- Film quality below threshold even with all scenes filmed
Ultimately, it's not just a game won or lost. It's a whodunnit you've written, filmed, and solved together. And that story stays at the table, even after putting everything back in the box.

Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ about Roll Camera!: Murder Mystery Story Pack
Do I really need the base game or can I start with this pack?
The base game is needed. This pack adds 32 cards and a mechanic, but does not include the game board, dice, or main rules. It is a modular expansion, not a standalone game. If you don't have Roll Camera, start with that.
What mechanics does Roll Camera: Murder Mystery Story Pack use?
Worker placement dice (from the base game), spatial puzzle on a grid, deductive suspect elimination. The pack adds a layer of pattern recognition: Camera dice positions + backdrop strips = eliminated suspects. Simple to understand, interesting to optimize.
Can it be played with other expansions?
Yes. The pack is backwards compatible with the base game and the B-Movie expansion. You can mix cards from multiple packs or play only the Murder Mystery in isolation. Keen Bean Studio designed the packs for maximum flexibility.
Does solo play work well with this expansion?
It works. Roll Camera has an official solo mode, and the Murder Mystery integrates seamlessly. You manage everything yourself, the spatial puzzle remains identical. It loses the cooperative discussion, but the deductive layer compensates.
Is it available in Italian?
No. This edition is in English. The cards have text: scenes, problems, ideas. A decent understanding of English is required. There are no official Italian translations at the moment.
