The FroGames review
You're about to grab the stack you need. Someone spends three tickets and snatches it right before your eyes. You change strategy, aim for another attraction, but at the end of the round, you find it's not enough: they have the majority.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT
A card fair where majorities are worth more than complete sets
The Ticket Booth is designed by Brent Beck, Michael Eskue, and Lisa Eskue, the family behind Grandpa Beck's Games, an American company known for family-friendly games like Skull King and Cover Your Assets. The colorful illustrations by Apryl Stott evoke the atmosphere of a fair with carousels, food stalls, and vintage attractions. Released in July 2026, it's a card game designed for families looking for streamlined mechanics without sacrificing direct interaction.
At the table, you collect stacks of fair attractions, spending tickets to jump ahead in the line or to steal a stack an opponent has already taken. At the end of each round, whoever has the majority of each attraction earns points. Action cards allow for sudden twists and change the tide of the game in a matter of seconds.
What they say abroad
"Collect the largest sets, and earn points by holding the majority when the round ends."
Collect the largest sets, and earn points by holding the majority when the round ends.

The Ticket Booth has just been released, and the database still has few ratings: this review is based on official information and an initial reading of the mechanics. We will update it once we have gathered more game nights at the table.

The Ticket Booth
What you'll find in the box
Attractions, tickets, and action cards
Attraction Cards
Six types of fair attractions (rides, stalls, games). You need to collect the majority of each type at the end of the round to score points. It's not enough to have many: you must have more than others.
Tickets
The game's currency. You spend them to skip ahead in the line for stacks or to steal a stack already taken by an opponent. If you run out too soon, you'll be watching others divide the best attractions.
Action Cards
Sudden plot twists that change the fate of a round in seconds. They allow you to overturn majorities, force trades, block opponents. They appear unexpectedly and force everyone to recalculate.
Score Tiles
Each attraction has its own tile indicating points for the player with the majority. At the end of the round, only the one with the most counts: the second place gets nothing. This makes every card decisive.
🎲How to PlayThe rules in four steps▼
How to Play
The flow of each round
Each round is a quick race: collect attractions, spend tickets to steal, count majorities.
Each player receives a certain number of tickets (the round's currency). Piles of face-down attractions are created in front of everyone. You don't know what's inside until you take them.
Take turns picking an available pile or spend tickets to jump ahead and take a further pile. You can also steal a pile already taken by an opponent by paying the ticket cost.
If you draw an action card, you can play it immediately or save it for later. Actions allow you to swap piles, block opponents, earn bonus tickets, or force uncomfortable choices on others.
When the piles run out, each player counts how many cards they have of each attraction. Whoever has the absolute majority of a type earns the points for that tile. The second-place player earns nothing. A new round begins.

A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
The fair tour
Everyone receives their tickets and a row of attraction piles appears in front of you. Evaluate which ones are best to take: is it better to focus on a single attraction or spread out? Someone starts counting, someone takes the first available pile to test the waters.
The first stolen pile
Someone spends three tickets and jumps ahead to steal the pile you just took. You end up with fewer cards than you thought and have to re-evaluate which attractions to focus on. You start calculating how much it will cost you to catch up.
Action cards come out
Mid-round, someone draws an action card and plays it immediately: forced exchanges, blocked piles, bonus tickets. Majorities that seemed secure are no longer so. Everyone recalculates and someone starts protecting their most valuable piles.
The last ticket
The round is about to end and you realize you have one less ticket than you needed. Someone has already secured the majority on two attractions, you have one sure, but the second is uncertain. You decide whether to invest everything or give up and aim for the next round.
Counting and bitter smiles
Majorities are counted attraction by attraction. Whoever has one more card wins everything, whoever is second gains nothing. Someone laughs because they won by a hair, someone else realizes they wasted tickets on the wrong pile. Reshuffle for the next round.
🐸Good to KnowThree honest things, from friends▼
Good to Know
Three things you need to know
It's not enough to have many cards: you must have more than others. If you are second by only one card, you get zero points. This means that sometimes it's better to focus on attractions that others ignore instead of fighting everyone over the same pile.
They come out by surprise and can turn an entire round around in a few seconds. If you are unlucky with the draw, you might find yourself at a disadvantage through no fault of your own. Players who hate luck might struggle.
The game is designed for group chaos: stealing piles, cross actions, majority calculations involving three or four people. With two players, it loses its edge and becomes a predictable duel. Better to play with 3-5.
🏆Victory and DefeatWhat the ending rewards▼
How it ends
How to win and how to lose
Each round awards points to whoever has the majority. After a certain number of rounds, the player with the most total points wins.
Victory
- Accumulate points by winning majorities of as many attractions as possible each round
- After the last round, sum all the points earned: whoever has the highest total wins
- It's important to know how to read which attractions others are collecting and aim for the right ones at the right time
Defeat
- You waste tickets on piles that don't give you the majority
- You fight everyone over the same attraction instead of looking for easier majorities elsewhere
- Opponents' action cards ruin your plans at the last second and you lose crucial points
The Ticket Booth is a set collection game that rewards those who know how to calculate the right risk and when to invest tickets. Perfect for families looking for something a bit more cutthroat than classic party games.

Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ about The Ticket Booth
What mechanics does The Ticket Booth use?
The game uses set collection (collecting attractions of the same type), open drafting (piles are available to everyone and you spend tickets to choose which one to take), and take-that (you can steal piles already taken by other players). The twist lies in majorities: it's not enough to have many cards, you must have more than others.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes, the minimum age is 7 years old and the rules are immediate. Children quickly understand the mechanism of spending tickets to steal piles and count majorities. The direct interaction keeps them engaged and games are short. Perfect for families with elementary school children.
How much does luck matter?
Action cards appear by surprise and can turn a round around. The order of the piles is random and you don't know what they contain until you take them. But you choose when to spend tickets and which attractions to aim for, so there's room for tactics and calculation. If you play well, you can mitigate bad luck.
Does it work well with two players?
It works, but it loses its edge. The game is designed for group chaos (3-5 players): stealing piles, cross action cards, majorities contested by multiple people. With two, it becomes a more predictable duel and action cards have less impact. Better to play with at least three.
Is it available in Italian?
The edition sold on FroGames is in English. The text on the cards is limited (attraction names and action cards), so with a printed translation of the action cards, it is accessible even to those who do not speak English. There are no official Italian editions currently available.
