Is It A Red Flag? 18+ Edition (originally Raise Your Red Flag: Not Safe For Work Edition) is a party game published by Fried Potatoes Games in 2024 and distributed in Italy by Asmodee. This is the 18+ version, the one with 120 unfiltered statements: embarrassing dealbreakers, questionable situations, confessions no one wanted to hear.
Each turn, one player reads a red flag aloud. The others vote on who at the table best embodies that statement. The most voted player takes the card as a trophy (or shame). The first to 10 cards wins. Mechanically, it's very simple: draw, read, vote, laugh. But what really happens is an unsolicited social inquiry into your circle of friends.

6 voting flags
Each player raises their flag to indicate the culprit. Public voting, no secrets. Embarrassment is part of the game.

How to play
The flow of each round
Three steps, zero complications. The pace is brutal and immediate.
One player draws a card from the deck and reads it aloud. 120 different statements: some ridiculous, some painfully accurate.
Everyone (except the reader) raises their flag towards the player who best embodies that red flag. Simultaneous votes, no preliminary discussions.
The player with the most votes takes the card as a ticket. In case of a tie, discuss (and laugh) until the group decides. First to 10 tickets wins.
The turn passes clockwise. The next player draws, reads, and the cycle begins again. Simple, ruthless, unstoppable.

What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
The innocent first card
Someone reads the first red flag. Everyone looks around, searching for the culprit. The laughter is nervous. Nobody wants to be the first to take a card. Then the votes come in: three flags point to the same person. And chaos erupts.
Accusations get serious
After three or four cards, the group understands how it works. The red flags become more targeted, the votes more ruthless. Someone starts actively defending themselves. Others embrace the role of a walking red flag. The table divides into judges and defendants.
The card that hurts
A red flag that hits too close to home comes out. Two seconds of silence. Then hysterical laughter. Someone gets up to protest, someone else grabs their smartphone to screenshot the moment. This card will be quoted for months.
The race to the tenth ticket
Someone has 8 cards, someone else has 7. Every vote counts. The group starts to strategically vote to block those about to win. Alliances form and dissolve in one turn. Nobody wants that player to win.
The unworthy winner
Someone reaches 10 cards and proclaims themselves Red Flag Winner. The table boos, laughs, disputes. The winner triumphantly raises their hands, surrounded by paper evidence of their social inadequacy. Nobody talks about a rematch, but everyone knows there will be one.

It's 18+ for a reason
This is not the basic edition. The 120 cards in this version are unfiltered: over-the-top statements, embarrassing dealbreakers, explicit content. If your group can't handle adult humor or uncomfortable situations, this edition is not for you. There is a lighter standard version.
It only works if the group knows each other (or wants to know each other too well)
With strangers or work colleagues, you risk glacial silence. The game thrives on existing social dynamics: inside jokes, past stories, shared embarrassment. The more the group knows each other, the harder the cards hit and the more laughter there is.
It's not a strategy game, it's disguised group therapy
Zero mechanical depth. Draw, read, vote. The game has no tactical layers. It's a pretext to expose (and laugh at) flaws, questionable habits, and real red flags of the group. If you're looking for a party game with bluffing or deduction, look elsewhere.

Victory (dubious)
- Collect 10 tickets (Red Flag cards assigned to you by the group)
- Proclaim yourself Red Flag Winner in front of everyone
- Accept the fact that you won because you are the most problematic at the table
Elimination (does not exist)
- There are no eliminations: the game is inclusive in its embarrassment
- You can end up with 0 cards, but that just means the group considers you boring
- True defeat is not laughing. If you don't laugh, the problem is the group (or it's you)
It's a game that you won't forget. Not for the mechanics, but for the things that emerge at the table. If your group can handle embarrassment and over-the-top humor, it's the perfect party game.
