The FroGames Review
You’re still in the game. Someone is already out. Do you roll now and risk it all, or wait for the next round with better odds? If there is a next round.
WHAT IS IT ABOUT
When mathematics meets courage (and bad luck)
Luke Melia took a very simple idea — rolling double zero with two d10s — and built a game of probability, timing, and survival around it. The artwork by Michael Dickinson and Sabine Kondirolli keeps everything clean and readable: what matters here is quickly figuring out if it's worth the risk or not.
Every turn you play cards to sabotage others or protect yourself. Whoever is left standing can choose: roll immediately and win if you hit 0-0, or pass and accumulate modifiers for the next round. The problem is that someone else might steal the win first. The game lasts until someone hits 1% or everyone else is out.
What they're saying abroad
It's a game that thrives on that tension between the desire to win immediately and the fear of missing the right moment. Then a double zero comes up on the first turn and everyone is left speechless.

1% - Challenge Your Luck! (1%: A Game of Strategic Chance)
Your weapons (and your traps)
Four types of cards that turn everything around
Defense Cards
They protect you from immediate elimination. If someone hits you, show the card and stay in the game. But then it's gone, and you have to find another one.
Attack Cards
Force an opponent to roll immediately, even if they don't want to. If they fail, they are out. Timing is everything: strike those who have zero modifiers.
Modifier Cards
Add +1, +2, or more to the roll. Instead of looking for 0-0, you look for 2-2 or 4-4. Easier, but you have to accumulate them without being attacked first.
Trap Cards
Play them face down in front of you. If someone attacks you, the trap triggers: cancel the attack or reflect it back onto them. Pure bluffing.

🎲How to playThe rules in four steps▼
How to play
The flow of each round
Each turn has three phases, all very fast. There are no sub-turns, no pauses.
Draw from the central deck. No hand limit, but you only draw one card per turn. If you want to build a strong hand, you must survive long enough to accumulate cards.
You can play up to two cards, including attacks, defenses, traps, or modifiers. Attack cards force an opponent to roll immediately. Defenses and traps remain in front of you until they are needed. Modifiers change your target number.
If you are still in the game, you can roll the two d10s. If you roll your target number (0-0 by default, or the modified one), you win. If you fail, you are eliminated. Alternatively, you can pass and let the next player take their turn, but you risk someone else winning before you.
If no one has won or been eliminated, the next player begins their turn. The game continues until someone hits the double or until only one player remains.

A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
Everyone studies their cards
Starting hands are drawn. Everyone looks at what they have: some defenses, some attacks, maybe a modifier. No one rolls immediately. That would be crazy. 1% is too far off. Everyone waits for someone else to make the first move.
The first attack
Someone loses patience and attacks their neighbor. “Roll now.” If the target has no defenses, they must roll the dice. 47. Still alive, but the table realizes the game has begun. Cards start flying fast.
Someone accumulates modifiers
A player attacks no one, instead playing only modifier cards. Now they are aiming for a 6-6 instead of 0-0. Their chances have risen to 10%. The others notice and start aiming all their attack cards at them. They must decide quickly.
Chain reaction eliminations
Three players exit in two turns. A bad roll, a missing defense card, a trap that didn't trigger. The table clears out. Two remain, both with modifiers, both out of defenses. Who rolls first?
Someone hits the double
Roll. The dice tumble. 4 and 4. Victory. Or 3 and 5. Eliminated. There is no middle ground. The winner screams, the losers laugh and blame the dice. Someone immediately suggests a rematch.
🐸Know before you playThree honest things, between friends▼
Know before you play
Three honest things
You can play all the cards in the world, but if the dice aren't on your side, you're out. The game gives you control over WHEN to roll and WHICH number to aim for, not the outcome of the roll. If you are looking for pure strategy, this isn't the right table.
A game can last 10 minutes or 5. Sometimes someone wins on the second turn by pure luck and everyone is stunned. That is not a bug; it's the concept: this is a game about extreme probability. Expect very short games and immediate rematches.
The game scales well from 2 to 4 players. At 5-6 players, it becomes a massacre: too many attack cards circulating, too many players eliminated quickly, too much downtime between turns. The sweet spot is 3-4 people.
🏆Victory and defeatWhat the ending rewards▼
How it ends
How to win and lose
The winner is the first person to hit their target number with the two d10s. Everyone else loses.
Victory
- You roll the dice on your turn and hit exactly the number you are looking for (0-0 by default, or the number modified by your cards)
- You are the last player left in the game after everyone else has been eliminated
- You use a special card that allows you to win instantly (if the deck includes variants)
Elimination
- You roll the dice (by choice or because forced by an attack card) and your target number DOES NOT appear
- You are hit by an attack card and have no defense or trap cards to protect yourself, so you must roll and you fail
- Another player wins before you have the chance to roll
This is a game that doesn't pretend to be anything else: math, dice, and a touch of madness. If you are looking for lighthearted evenings where everyone laughs at absurd defeats, this is the right table.

Frequently asked questions
FAQ about 1% - Challenge Your Luck!
How long does a game actually last?
Between 10 to 30 minutes, but most finish in 15-20. There are lightning-fast games where someone wins on the third turn, and longer games where no one dares to roll and modifiers are accumulated. The box says 10-30 min, and for once, the estimate is realistic.
Does it work well with 2 players?
Yes, but it changes significantly. With two players, it is more tactical and less chaotic: you see all of your opponent's cards, you know when they can attack you, and you can plan better. It loses some of the party chaos but gains tension in the head-to-head.
Do I need to know how to calculate probabilities?
No. The game tells you clearly that you are aiming for 0-0 (1% probability) and every modifier increases your chances. You don't need to do complex math; you just need to decide if 1%, 4%, or 10% feels like enough to risk it. Intuition is enough.
What mechanics does 1% - Challenge Your Luck! use?
Dice Rolling (you roll two d10s to hit a target number) and Push Your Luck (you decide when to roll, balancing immediate risk and accumulating future advantages). The cards add a layer of light Hand Management.
Is it available in English?
Yes, this is the Italian edition by Studio Supernova. Cards, rules, and all materials are in Italian. The game has low language dependency (cards have text but clear icons), so editions in other languages are also playable with a reference sheet.
