In Waddle, the cold isn't the problem; other penguins are. On a hexagonal board covered in ice, your goal is to strategically place your penguins to create large "waddles" (groups) and claim the best fish. But every move changes the turn order, and in such a fast-paced and tense game, timing is as important as strategy .
Each turn, you can place a penguin near the shallowest numbered pool, ensuring a good position for the future, or "Scout Ahead" to jump to another column of the turn track, radically changing your options for subsequent moves. Knowing when to act and when to prepare is the key to blocking your opponents and maximizing your points.

A march of penguins. In Waddle, you find yourself among ice and fish, where the secret to victory isn't just placing your penguins well, but doing so at the right time. Each turn is a dance of strategy and timing: move, block, anticipate.
The rhythm of ice. The heart of the game is the Turn Tracker, a double column of marbles that decides who plays and when. Drawing early or a moment late can make all the difference between a starving colony and one swimming in abundance.
Two choices, a thousand outcomes. Each turn, you can place a penguin on an empty hex next to the nearest body of water, pushing your march toward new groups and new points. Or you can "Scout Ahead," climbing the opposite column to secure a future turn early.
Blocks and connections. Creating a large group (a true "waddle") guarantees you succulent fish, but also a positioning that can cut off an opponent. Each penguin you put down is both a step forward for you and a hindrance for them.

Waddle is an abstract, strategic board game published by Allplay for 2-5 players, with quick play lasting 15 to 25 minutes. Each player places their penguins on a hexagonal board , trying to form groups and collect the most fish.
The game's unique feature is the turn order: thanks to a two-column marble system, you can decide when to act and when to prepare, radically influencing the flow of the game.

We played it… with the stuffed penguins on the table 🐸
We didn't have any extra miniatures, so we placed two plush penguins next to the board. The atmosphere was set. Waddle impressed us with how vicious he can be in just a few minutes : just one well-placed penguin can shut down an entire strategy.
The most fun thing is the variable turn order: you choose to act immediately or wait, and if you get your timing wrong... they'll eat you. It's fast, elegant, and always leaves you wanting to replay it to do better.
