The FroGames Card
You have three items in your hand. You need two more to start. Your neighbor has what you're missing, but won't give it to you. Someone steals someone else's passport. Everyone laughs, except the one who just lost.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT
A chaotic race through countries, suitcases, and stolen passports
Itchy Feet: The Travel Game is based on the webcomic of the same name by Malachi Ray Rempen, who collaborated with Maxime Rioux to transform his traveler comics into a card game. Published in 2017, after a successful Kickstarter campaign, Itchy Feet brings the humor and chaos of travel to the table: repacking suitcases, forgotten items, lost passports.
Each player starts in their own country and must reach the country in the center of the table. To do so, they need to collect three specific items and keep their passport safe. You draw from the deck, trade with others, steal from their hand, discard, and repack your suitcase. The first one to arrive wins. The five modular expansions (Events, Special Items, Forbidden Items, Postcards, Characters) complicate things as desired.

The base game is immediate, but the modular expansions let you choose how much chaos to add to the table.

Itchy Feet: The Travel Game
What's in the suitcase
Four elements that make the game run
Country Cards
Each player starts from a different country and must reach the country in the center. Each country requires three specific items to travel: hiking boots, hat, sunscreen... You must have them in hand, along with your passport.
Item Cards
These are travel items: backpack, suitcase, map, camera. You draw them, trade them, steal them. Your hand is your suitcase: you can't have more than five cards, and you have to decide what to keep and what to discard.
Passport
Without a passport, you can't travel. Each player has one at the start, but can lose it or have it stolen. If someone steals it from you, you have to draw it again from the discard pile or wait for it to re-enter circulation.
Modular Extensions
Five optional decks: Events (cards that affect everyone), Special Items (extra actions), Forbidden Items (block you), Postcards (alternative victory condition), Characters (unique abilities). Add whichever ones you want.

How to Play
The Flow of Each Turn
Each turn is super fast: draw, trade or steal, discard if necessary.
You can draw from the face-down deck or take the top visible card from the discard pile ("recycle"). Choose based on what you need.
You can propose a trade to another player (both must agree) or steal a random card from their hand. No limits: you can make multiple trades in the same turn.
Your hand cannot exceed five cards. If you have more, you discard the excess. Discarded cards go to the visible pile and can be recycled.
If you have the three items required by your destination country and the passport, you declare victory. The others check. If everything is correct, you win.

A game in five moments
What Happens at the Table
Not the rules. The experience.
Starting from your own country
Everyone looks at their Country cards and figures out what items they need. Someone already has a correct item in hand, someone else looks at the other players suspiciously. The first question is always: "Who has the passport?"
Trading begins
You draw a card, discard one, propose trades. Someone accepts, someone refuses. One player asks for the hat and promises the backpack in return. The deal falls through because a third player has stolen the backpack from the first player's hand in the meantime.
Someone steals the passport
A player has all three items. Seems ready to win. Then discovers that someone else stole their passport two turns ago. General laughter. The thief is now the favorite, but doesn't yet have the right items.
Extensions change everything
If you play with extensions, an Event now forces everyone to discard a random card, or a Character with a special ability bypasses a rule. The seemingly linear game becomes unpredictable. Who was behind is now ahead.
Victory by a whisker
Someone declares victory: they have the three items and the passport. The others check their hand, verify that everything is in order. It's all correct. The end. Total duration: twenty minutes with extensions, eight without.
🐸What to Know FirstThree honest things, from friends▼
What to know first
Three things to know
The base game is very light
Without extensions, Itchy Feet lasts 8-10 minutes and is almost a filler. The structure holds, but it lacks depth. Extensions are really needed: at least one or two should be added to give the game a minimum of strategic depth. With all five active, you reach 45 minutes and the game changes completely.
Luck plays a big role
You draw from the deck. If you get the right item, you're ahead; if not, you have to trade or steal. A stroke of luck can make you win even if you're behind, and a well-placed theft can turn the game around. It's not a game for those who want total control: timing and negotiation matter more than planning here.
With six players, it slows down too much
With six players, the game gets longer and downtime increases. The sweet spot is 3-4 players: enough interaction, fast pace, no one waits too long. It works with two but loses the social chaos. With five or six, it becomes sprawling and someone gets bored between turns.
🏆Victory and DefeatWhat the ending rewards▼
How it ends
How to Win
The first player to reach the country in the center of the table with the correct items and passport wins.
Victory
- You have the three items required by your destination country in hand
- You have your passport in hand
- You declare victory and the others verify that everything is correct
What blocks you
- Your passport is stolen and you have to retrieve it from the discard pile
- You are missing one or more items and no one wants to trade them
- With extensions: you draw a Forbidden Item that prevents you from traveling until you get rid of it
Itchy Feet is a modular party game that grows with you: light and immediate without extensions, deeper and more chaotic with all five active. Perfect for quick evenings or families who want an accessible yet never trivial game.

Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ about Itchy Feet: The Travel Game
What mechanics does Itchy Feet use?
Hand management, trading (free trades between players) and variable player powers (unique abilities if you use the Characters extension). The structure is a race: whoever reaches the central country first wins.
How long does a game last?
It depends on the extensions. Base game: 8-10 minutes, almost a filler. With one or two extensions: 20-25 minutes. With all five active: 40-45 minutes. You can choose based on the time you have and the level of chaos you want.
Is it really suitable for 7-year-olds?
Yes, the rules are very simple: draw, trade, discard. A child understands everything in five minutes. The only limit is reading the cards: if the child doesn't read English well, an adult needs to help. But the game structure is perfect for the indicated age.
Can all extensions be used together?
Yes. You can play with the base deck alone or add one, two, or all five extensions. Events and Special Items increase chaos, Forbidden Items slow down those in the lead, Postcards provide alternative win conditions, Characters introduce asymmetry. Start with one or two, then add the others if you want more complexity.
Is it available in Italian?
No, this edition is in English. The cards have short texts (names of items and countries, essential descriptions on extensions). Language dependence is medium: with a basic understanding of English or initial help, you can play without problems.
The people behind the game
Who invented it, who designed it, who publishes it — and what else they've done.
Itchy Feet: The Travel Game is a card game for 2-6 players aged 7 and up, lasting 8-45 minutes depending on active extensions. Designed by Malachi Ray Rempen and Maxime Rioux, published by Lotus Frog Games, it originates from the webcomic Itchy Feet and brings hand management, trading, and Variable Player Powers mechanics to the table. Each player must collect three specific items and a passport to travel to the country in the center of the table. The five modular extensions (Events, Special Items, Forbidden Items, Postcards, Characters) allow scaling complexity from a fast filler to a 45-minute party game. Available on FroGames.it.
