The FroGames Review
Play three cards together. Your opponent looks up. The combo triggers, the table explodes, the tokens fly. Now that's a party.
WHAT IT IS
The party is here. And with the party, chaos.
Revelry Deck is the first expansion for A Wild Venture, the two-player strategy game by Iain Everett and Pennie Jo Everett, published by PIKA Games and distributed in Italy by Cranio Creations. This expansion adds 24 new festive-themed cards to the base game, each with unique art and abilities designed to unleash all at once.
The heart of the expansion is timing: playing the right cards, in the right order, and preferably all in one go. Explosive combinations that flip the tempo of the game, characters that chain-react, gifts being passed from hand to hand. The party at the table becomes the highlight of the night, the moment where everything changes in an instant.
What they're saying abroad
The Revelry Deck brings the party rhythm to the table: cards that explode all together, sequences that trigger in a cascade, and the feeling that every turn can flip the game. It’s the expansion A Wild Venture players were waiting for.

A Wild Venture - Revelry Deck (A Wild Venture: Revelry)
The new festive cards
What Revelry brings to the table
Party characters
Village animals dressed up for a party, ready to unleash their special abilities when the time is right. Each card has unique art signed by Pennie Jo Everett.
Chained gifts
Cards that pass from hand to hand and activate effects every time they are played. The party becomes a strategic ping-pong of gifts and countermoves.
Simultaneous combos
Abilities designed to explode all together. Play three cards in sequence and watch the engine catch fire. It is the beating heart of the expansion.
Celebratory events
New instant effects that change the conditions of the table. When the party starts, anything can happen and nobody knows how the turn will end.
🎲How to playThe rules in four steps▼
How to play
The flow of each turn
The Revelry Deck doesn't change the basic rules of A Wild Venture: it adds new cards that integrate into the existing system.
Two actions per turn: play a card or activate a card already in play. The new Revelry cards work the same way, but with abilities designed for simultaneous combos.
Festive cards reward timing: play multiple cards together or in quick succession to trigger chain reactions. The order of play becomes critical.
As in the base game, each card has a usage counter. Only those completely exhausted score points at the end of the game. New cards are consumed faster if played well.
There is only one deck for both players. The 24 Revelry cards are shuffled into the 108 base cards. Drawing the right card at the right time is half the victory.
⏱️Your first gameThe play-by-play account▼
A game in five moments
What happens at the table with Revelry
Not the rules. The experience.
The first festive cards
You draw the new Revelry cards mixed into the base deck. Some end up in your starting hand. You smile because you know what it can do. Your opponent smiles too. You both know this game will be different.
Building the sequence
You're setting up a three-card combo. You've already played one, the second is in your hand. The third is still in the deck. Your opponent draws. It's not the one you were hoping for. You breathe. It's your turn.
The party explodes
You play all three cards in one turn. Chain abilities trigger: resources, draws, activations. The table comes alive. Your opponent raises their hands as if to say 'okay, I get it'. But it's not over yet.
The response
The next turn your opponent does the same. Three cards, a cascade reaction. Now you're even. Actually no, they drew better. The game turns around in three seconds. This is Revelry.
Party's over
The deck is exhausted. Count the points from the consumed cards. Whoever knew how to exhaust the new festive cards at the right time has won. The other wants a rematch immediately. It's always like this.
🐸Good to knowThree honest tips, from friends▼
Good to know
Three things to know about the Revelry Deck
Requires base game
The Revelry Deck is an expansion, not a standalone game. You need the base game A Wild Venture to play. The 24 cards are shuffled into the existing thematic sets; they do not replace anything.
More combos, more downtime
Festive cards encourage complex sequences and chained moves. If you play with a serial thinker, turns will get longer. The game only speeds up if both of you know the cards well.
Works best after your first few games
The new combos shine when you already know the base deck. Adding Revelry to your very first game of A Wild Venture can be confusing. It's better to introduce it after 3-5 games.
🏆Victory and defeatWhat the ending rewards▼
How it ends
How to win with the Revelry Deck
Victory conditions don't change: the winner is the one with the most points at the end of the game. But the new cards change how you get there.
Victory
- Points from fully consumed festive cards (like all other cards)
- Explosive combos that consume more cards in one turn, accelerating scoring
- Perfect timing: playing Revelry cards in the right order maximizes points
Fatal errors
- Playing festive cards too early or too late, breaking the combo
- Failing to fully consume the new cards before the end of the game (zero points)
- Underestimating an opponent who triggers a devastating festive sequence
The Revelry Deck is the expansion that transforms A Wild Venture into a game of perfect timing, where every turn can spark the party or ruin it forever.
