Every civilization is profoundly asymmetrical : Atlantis thrives but risks extinction, the Egyptians dominate thanks to their monuments, the Mauryas pursue enlightenment, the Qin impose order and iron, while the Utopians dream of an impossible perfection. Expand, conquer, develop culture and science, but balance your growth: too much ambition breeds disorder , too much caution condemns you to oblivion.
