1. Welcome to the fjords… where every terrain is contested.
Small Fjords transports you to the rugged and beautiful Norwegian coasts, in the midst of the Viking Age. Two rival clans compete to conquer the most fertile lands, building villages in strategic locations and attempting to seize swathes of land for their own domination. It's a duel of wits, not strength: here, the most patient, not the most aggressive, win.
2. We begin map after map, like a Nordic mosaic.
The game is divided into two phases. In the first, players place tiles that form the landscape of fjords, mountains, and fields. During this phase, they can place farms at key points , setting the stage for the second half of the game. An elegant mix of luck and strategy, in perfect tile-laying style.
3. Then comes the real battle: the silent one.
Once the map is completed, phase two begins: conquering the fields . Using the farms as a starting point, each player expands their control. But beware: the system is inspired by Go , and each move can close (or open) entire areas. This is where the game's elegance lies: every mistake is costly, every choice leaves its mark.
4. No dice, just the mind. And just a few minutes.
Small Fjords is a game for just two players , perfect for those looking for quick but intense games . It lasts just 20 minutes, but every match is a small mental duel.
