FroGames — Moments You'll Remember
Twenty years from now, your child won't remember who won. But they will remember the afternoon you stamped pigs together, laughing like crazy.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT
Build fences, gather animals, stamp the perfect farm
Stampfarm is a roll-and-stamp designed by Walter Obert and illustrated by Magdalena Markowska for DV Games. Instead of marking spaces with a pencil, here you stamp: six colorful stamps for cows, geese, chickens, pigs, sheep, and hay bales. Sally the farmer needs help organizing her animals, and you are in charge of the enclosure.
Each turn you roll three dice, choose one, take the corresponding stamp, and stamp it onto an empty space on your farm. The other players then choose from the remaining dice in a cascade. When all spaces are filled, you count the largest group of each animal type: each animal in the group is worth one point. The advanced mode adds hedges, the hay bale stamp, and three objective cards to vary the strategy.
What they say abroad
A game that makes roll-and-write physical and tactile, perfect for introducing children to the genre without losing the fun for adults.
— FroGames
Choosing the right die at the right time creates tension even in 20 minutes. And the stamps are irresistible.

What's in the box
Six stamps, three dice, and a farm to fill
Animal stamps
Six colorful stamps (cow, goose, chicken, pig, sheep, hay bale). Each animal corresponds to a die face. Real stamps, not pencil marks: the table fills with colors.
Three custom dice
Each die has six faces with farm animals. The hay bale wild card allows you to choose any stamp. All dice are rolled together, then chosen one at a time.
Farm sheets
Personal boards with empty spaces to fill. In advanced mode, hedges appear that separate areas and limit groups. Each sheet is a new challenge.
Objective cards
Three random objective cards in advanced mode change the way points are scored: not just large groups, but also specific arrangements or varieties of animals. Infinite replayability.
Twenty years from now you won't remember who won. But you will remember the afternoon you stamped pigs with your child.
A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
Everyone takes their sheet and stamps
Setup in 30 seconds: sheets in front, stamps in the middle, three dice ready. The first time, someone tries the stamps on the sheet just for the fun of it. Children are already engaged, adults smile. This is a game that intimidates no one.
The first rolls: everything seems easy
You roll the dice, choose an animal, stamp it. The others choose from the remaining dice. In the first turns, there's room for everyone, you stamp without overthinking it. Someone starts grouping cows, someone else focuses on sheep. Strategy is still under the surface.
Mid-game: spaces run out
The sheet starts to fill up, and every choice matters more. Someone already has a compact group of pigs, someone else realizes they've scattered their chickens too much. The die you choose removes options from others: tension begins. Whoever gets the hay bale wild card breathes a sigh of relief.
Last three turns: every stamp is a gamble
Few empty spaces remain, and the dice never roll as you'd like. Someone bets everything on a huge group of cows, someone else diversifies to avoid having gaps. A wrong die can ruin the plan. Absolute silence, then laughter when the worst possible die is rolled.
End: count your largest groups
Everyone stamps the last space together. The largest groups of each animal are counted: each animal in the group is worth one point. Someone wins by a pig, someone realizes too late they forgot the sheep. Colored sheets are compared, laughter, an immediate desire to replay.
How to play
The flow of each turn
Three dice, six animals, a cascading choice. Twenty uninterrupted minutes with no downtime.
One player rolls all three dice. The result is visible to everyone. Six animal faces: cow, goose, chicken, pig, sheep, hay bale wild card.
The active player chooses one of the three dice and takes the stamp of the corresponding animal. If the hay bale appears, they can choose any stamp. This choice removes a die from the others.
You stamp the chosen animal onto an empty space on your sheet. You can choose where, but you can't go back: the stamp is permanent. The goal is to create compact groups of the same animal.
The next player clockwise chooses one of the two remaining dice, and so on until the last player. Then it returns to the first player and repeats until all sheets are full.
Why it's different from other roll-and-writes
Six elements that make the difference
Physical stamps instead of pencils
You don't mark squares with a pencil: you stamp colorful stamps on your farm. It's a tactile, satisfying gesture that engages even those who usually don't like roll-and-writes. Children love it, adults discover an almost childlike pleasure in stamping.
Cascading dice selection
You don't roll the dice for yourself: you roll them for everyone. The first player chooses a die, the second chooses between the two remaining, the last takes what's left. This means your choice directly influences others, creating tension even in a 20-minute game.
Groups instead of variety
Many roll-and-writes reward diversification. Here, the winner is the one who builds compact groups of the same animal. Each animal in your largest group is worth one point. You can go all-in on one type or diversify: both strategies work.
Advanced mode without adding complexity
The basic mode takes 3 minutes to explain. The advanced mode adds hedges, the hay bale stamp, and three random objective cards that change how points are scored. It's not a different game: it's just deeper. And it remains very fast.
Exactly 20 minutes, always
There are no complicated setup phases, no downtime. From rolling the dice to the final score takes exactly 20 minutes, even in the first game. It's a perfect filler, but also a party game to end the evening without commitment.
Ages 6+, really
Many games say "ages 6+" but then require reading or complex planning. Not here: children understand everything by looking at the stamps and rolling the dice. They can play equally with adults without a handicap. And everyone has fun.
How it ends
How to win
The winner is the one who builds the largest groups. Every animal counts, but only the best group of each type.
Final score
- When all sheets are full, each player counts the largest contiguous group of each animal type
- Each animal in your largest group is worth 1 point (if you have 7 cows in a group and 3 scattered cows, you only count the 7)
- In advanced mode, objective cards give bonus points for specific arrangements or variety of animals. The player with the most total points wins
Common mistakes
- Scattering animals: random stamps without creating compact groups lose points. Every isolated animal is worth zero
- Focusing on only one type: if the dice never roll in your favor, you'll end up with gaps and small groups. You need a Plan B
- Ignoring hedges in advanced mode: hedges separate areas and prevent groups from joining. Plan before you stamp
Stampfarm is the game that introduces children to roll-and-writes without boring adults. Fast, colorful, infinitely replayable. And those stamps are irresistible.
Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ about Stampfarm
Can you play without the advanced mode?
Absolutely yes. The basic mode is already a complete and fun game, perfect for families and young children. The advanced mode adds objective cards, hedges, and the hay bale stamp for those who want more strategic depth, but it's not mandatory. Many players only use it after a few warm-up games.
Do the stamps wear out with use?
The stamps are of good quality and designed to last hundreds of games. Ink is included and easily refillable. If you play often, consider buying replacement ink pads, but the basic set lasts a long time. The advice is to clean the stamps occasionally to keep prints sharp.
How much does luck count in dice rolls?
The dice influence the available options, but the cascading choice greatly mitigates pure luck. Even with an unlucky roll, you can plan alternative groups or use the hay bale wild card. The winner is usually the one who can adapt, not the one with the best dice.
Can you play with 2 players or do you need more?
It also works well with 2 players, but the sweet spot is 3-4. With more players, the cascading dice choice creates more tension and interaction. With 2, it's more of a puzzle than a competition, but it's still fun. With 5, it can slow down slightly, but the total 20 minutes still holds.
Is the edition available in Italian?
Yes, the DV Games edition is fully in Italian: rulebook, objective cards, and localized components. The game is almost language-independent (the stamps are universal), but having everything in Italian helps with explanations and advanced cards.
Stampfarm is a roll-and-stamp game for 2-5 players aged 6 and up, with games lasting exactly 20 minutes. Designed by Walter Obert and published by DV Games, the game replaces the classic roll-and-write mechanism with colorful physical stamps representing six farm animals (cow, goose, chicken, pig, sheep, hay bale). Each turn, three custom dice are rolled, and players cascade-choose which animal to stamp on their board. The goal is to build the largest contiguous groups of each animal type to maximize the score. The advanced mode adds random objective cards, hedges, and alternative strategies. Perfect as a family game, quick filler, or introduction to modern games for children. Available on FroGames.it.
