CRIMINAL INSTINCTION
Hot Lead transforms a simple auction mechanic into a psychological duel. Each player has the same set of cards numbered 1 to 11. Each round, criminal cards (positive points) and "red herring" cards (sometimes negative points or special bonuses) are revealed. The ingenious twist is that whoever plays the highest investigator card takes the closest criminal card from the deck, and so on in descending order.
This creates a constant dilemma: do you want to spend your high card (the 11 or 10) now to secure those 5 points, or risk losing them to conserve your strength for a later round? And danger is always lurking: collecting three cards of the same suit will cause you to "bust," wiping out the points in that set. It's a hand management game where counting the cards used by your opponents becomes the secret weapon to victory.
