D&D 2024 Spells Reference Deck
Spells Reference Cards: Levels 2-3
"It's the spells that turn the tide of battle. Fireball, counterspell, fly. Better to have them clear in hand, not buried in the manual."
What it's about
Mid-level magic, accessible and ready to cast
Spells Reference Cards: Levels 2-3 is the official deck of reference cards for mid-level spells in Dungeons & Dragons 2024. The magic that comes into play as your character grows: each on a carefully designed card, with range, components, duration, and effect always at hand.
Inside the box, you'll find 115 spell cards (63 level 2 and 52 level 3), 8 character feature cards to keep class abilities close, 5 customizable cards for your homebrew options, and 1 instruction card. In total, 129 cards, designed for those who have moved beyond the first levels and now play a capable spellcaster.
It's the natural continuation of the 0-1 levels deck. Level 2 and 3 spells are often those that decide a battle (counterspell, fireball, fly, restore): precisely the ones you don't want to be looking up in the manual when combat is at its peak.
The cards cover level 2 and 3 spells from the D&D 2024 rulebook. They are a tabletop tool that supports gameplay, not a manual that replaces it.
FroGames Editorial Note
A word from FroGames
🃏 The meaning of a deck in one line
"The higher your spell level, the easier it is to forget what they actually do."
⚡ From tabletop experience
"Level 2 and 3 spells turn the tide. Better to have them clear in hand."
One deck, four tables
Who this deck is really for
Mid-level cards are for those who have already played a few sessions. Here's what four types of players will find in them.
If you already have the 0-1 deck
It's the logical completion. Your character has grown and now casts second and third-level spells: this deck extends the same convenience to new spells, without having to flip through the manual precisely when options become more powerful.
If you hate slowing down combat
Spells in this range have more complex rules: areas, durations, concentration. Having them on cards means resolving a counterspell or a fireball without interrupting combat to consult three different pages.
If you are a Dungeon Master
Mid-level enemies start using dangerous magic. Distribute the cards for the spells antagonists will cast and manage their turns with the same fluidity as the players, even in the most complex combats.
If you play without screens
You want the speed of digital without active tablets. The 8 character feature cards also keep class abilities close, so everything your spellcaster needs remains physical, on the table, in front of the group.
D&D Spells Reference Cards: Levels 2-3
What you'll find in the box
Four card types, 129 in total
63 level 2 spells
The spells that expand your arsenal after the first levels, from invisibility to lesser restoration. Each on a card, with all data ready for casting.
52 level 3 spells
The spells that often decide the battle: fireball, counterspell, fly. Complete data on cards, to resolve them without stopping combat.
8 feature cards
Cards with character features, to keep class abilities handy, not just spells. An extra that the 0-1 level deck didn't have.
5 customizable + 1 guide
Five blank cards for homebrew or missing spells, to write with a pencil, plus an instruction card to use the deck from the first minute.
Honesty first
What you WON'T find in this box
We tell you before you buy. It's an intermediate reference accessory, not a complete game product. Here's what it does not contain, so you know exactly what you're buying.
Level 0 and 1 spells
This deck starts from level 2. For cantrips and first-level spells, you'll need the separate deck Spells Reference Cards: Levels 0-1, the starting point of the line.
The Italian language
The cards are in English. Spell names and descriptions are in the original language. If you play with Italian materials, the names will not match.
Spells beyond level 3
Coverage stops at the third level. When your character accesses higher spells, you'll need the decks for subsequent levels of the same line.
Rules for playing
It's not a manual: it doesn't teach you how to play or contain the basic rules. You already need an spellcaster character and the rulebook to use these cards.
New or exclusive spells
The cards list the spells already existing in the 2024 rulebook, not new spells. The value is the convenience of the format, not additional game content.
An indispensable accessory
You can play D&D perfectly well without it. It's a comfort, a turn accelerator: you buy it because you want a smoother table, not because you absolutely need it.
No surprises
To use it at the table, you only need this
✅ You need…
- This deck, ready to use
- A spellcaster who casts level 2-3 spells
- A basic understanding of English to read the cards
- Your group and a session to play
❌ You DON'T need…
- The 0-1 level deck (but it pairs well)
- Apps or online accounts
- Sleeves or protective covers (optional)
- Previous experience with cards
If you also have the 0-1 level deck, combine them into a single deck per character and only draw the spells you actually know. You'll have your spellcaster's entire range, from cantrips to third level, at a glance. Always keep the 8 feature cards on top: they remind you of class abilities that you often forget you can use in the heat of battle.
"At third level, magic really starts to matter. Keep it in hand, not buried in a manual."

How your turn changes
Five moments, the magic that decides
What really happens when you bring mid-level spells, ready in hand, to the table.
The character has grown
You've reached the levels where you unlock second and third level spells. Open the deck, pull out the ones you've prepared, and add them to your low-level cards.
The battle ignites
The enemy is tough, something strong is needed. Scroll through the cards: fireball, web, flaming sphere. The right option is before you, with the numbers already set.
The counterspell moment
The opponent casts. You react. No time to look up the rule: the card tells you exactly how it works, and you resolve the reaction without breaking the tension.
Managing concentration
Many spells in this range require concentration. The cards remind you of duration and conditions at a glance, so you don't lose track of what's active.
At the end of the evening
The toughest combat flowed smoothly, without pauses for flipping pages. Put the cards back in the box, and your spellcaster is ready for the next session.
How to use it at the table
Four steps, zero learning curve
Select your spells
Draw the cards for the 2nd and 3rd level spells your character knows and has prepared, and set aside the 8 class feature cards.
Combine with low levels
If you also have the 0-1 deck, combine everything into a single deck: cantrips, first, second, and third level, your spellcaster's entire arsenal.
Draw and cast
When it's your turn, grab the right card, read area, duration, and concentration, declare and resolve. Even complex spells flow quickly.
Keep features visible
The 8 feature cards at the top of the deck remind you of your class abilities, the ones you often forget to use in the heat of the moment.
