FroGames — Moments You'll Remember
One island, one tower, divine power. He who controls the Aegean commands the gods — and he who builds highest wins all.
What it's about
Build temples, collect divine stones, dominate the archipelago
In the Aegean of ancient Greece, the gods watch from above. In For the Gods! by Trevor Benjamin, Brett J. Gilbert, and David Thompson — the designers of Undaunted, Mandala, and Guild of Merchant Explorers — you become a divine builder navigating the archipelago, founding temples on sacred islands, and raising them to the sky to claim the favor of the immortals.
The mechanism is crystal clear: move across the sea, establish or strengthen a tower, collect divine stones, and unleash their powers at the right moment. But every stone placed is also an invitation to rivals — on contested islands, the last to build highest takes all.
With 12 unique divine powers, each game brings a different balance, new tactics, unexpected trajectories. The board changes, islands are contested, temples grow — and whoever reaches the top first decides who rules the gods.
From the game table
A game where every stone you place is a silent declaration of war — and he who builds highest speaks for all.
The secret of For the Gods! in one line
Easy to learn rules, divine powers that change every game. Simplicity is just the surface — underneath is a tactical game full of choices.
From the game experience
For the Gods!
Your Divine Arsenal
What you control in each game
Modular Sacred Towers
Found a temple on a free island or strengthen an existing one. The higher you build, the stronger your control — and the harder it is to dislodge you.
12 Divine Stones
Every stone collected is power in your pocket. Use them at the wrong time and you lose everything. Use them at the right time and turn the game around.
Strategic Navigation
Moving on the sea is not neutral — every route is a choice. Reaching the right island before others is already half the victory.
Kickstarter Content
This edition includes the Free Kickstarter Gift unlocked during the campaign. Exclusive content for original backers.
In a few hours, you will have built the impossible, stolen an island at the last second, and unleashed a divine power no one expected. It almost always happens with For the Gods!

🎯 COME SI GIOCA
A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
The archipelago unfolds
The islands are there, silent, sacred. Each player looks at the map and already calculates: the large one in the center is worth everything, but it's exposed. The small one to the northeast — am I the only one thinking about it? Already in the setup, it's clear it will be a game of silences and studied moves.
The first temple touches down
Someone founds the first temple. The others watch. They choose the adjacent island, the one next door, the farthest one. The table's dynamics change by the third turn — and the divine stone collected by one immediately becomes everyone else's problem.
The contested tower
An island with two towers. One yours, one your opponent's. Whoever adds a level now controls the island — but spending an action here means abandoning the other front. Choices become costly. Every move is a sacrifice.
Divine power changes everything
Someone plays a divine stone. A single card overturns three turns of building: an island changes hands, a tower collapses, a route is blocked. The table turns towards the one who used the power. The game is no longer the same.
Whoever owns the skies wins
The final count. Controlled islands, tallest towers, remaining stones. Someone wins by one point. Someone remembers that move on turn four that might have changed everything. It's packed away with the question of when to play again.
How to play
The flow of each round
Three actions per turn, a clear objective: build higher than the others. It takes ten minutes to learn, three games to master.
Move your ship to an island. Reaching the right island before your opponents is already a tactical move — your starting position influences everything.
Plant a new temple on a free island, or add a level to an existing tower. The taller the temple, the stronger your control over the island.
Some islands produce divine stones linked to specific deities. Each stone is power in reserve — use it at the wrong time and you lose; use it at the right time and you turn the game around.
With 12 unique deities available, each game brings a different set of powers to the table. Those who know how to read the right moment to use them don't need to build more — just build better.
Why it's different from others
Six mechanics that make a difference
Modular towers that grow
You don't conquer an island with a single action — you build floor by floor. Every turn the landscape changes. No position is safe until the game is over.
12 divine powers, always different
Each game uses a subset of the 12 available deities. Optimal strategies change each time — there is no universal tactic to master once and for all.
Naval positioning that matters
The ship is not just a vehicle — it's an extension of strategy. Where you arrive, when you arrive, which island you skip: navigation is already tactical, not simple movement.
Area control without downtime
Short turns, quick choices. No thirty-minute calculations — decisions are made on the fly because the board changes quickly and waiting is already losing ground.
Islands contested until the end
There is no "your" island — there is an island where you currently have more towers. The opponent can overturn control in a single turn. The pressure never lets up.
Exclusive Kickstarter content
This edition includes the Free Kickstarter Gift unlocked during the campaign — content designed for those who believed in the project from the start.
How it ends
Whoever rules the Aegean, rules the gods
Control of the sacred islands determines everything. Building is easy — defending what you've built is the real challenge.
Victory
- Control the most sacred islands at the end of the game
- Control is determined by the tallest tower on each island
- Divine powers used at the right moment can turn everything around in the last round
Defeat
- Opponents' towers surpass yours on key islands
- You used divine powers too early or too late
- There are no comebacks: every lost island is a point that doesn't return
For the Gods! is a tactical area control game that scales perfectly from 2 to 4 players. Quick games, constant tension, very high variability thanks to the 12 divine powers.
Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ about For the Gods!
Is it worth it compared to other area control games on the market?
For the Gods! occupies a specific niche: it's an accessible area control game with real tactical depth, short games (30–60 min), and high variability thanks to the 12 divine powers. Those looking for a heavy eurogame will find something else — those who want tension and territorial control without hours of setup will find exactly what they're looking for here.
Does it work well with two players or do you need a full group?
With two players, it's more direct and tactical: every move immediately responds to the opponent's, without distractions. With 3–4 players, area control becomes more chaotic and implicit alliances emerge. Both experiences work — it depends on what you're looking for that evening.
How long does it take to learn the rules?
The rules can be explained in about 10 minutes. The first game flows naturally — the rules are few and immediate. The depth emerges in the management of divine stones and the timing of powers, which you learn by playing, not by reading.
What exactly does the Kickstarter edition include?
This edition includes the base game plus the Free Kickstarter Gift unlocked during the Kickstarter campaign. This is the content received by the original backers of the campaign — those who purchase now receive the same complete package.
Are all 12 divine powers in play simultaneously?
No — each game uses a subset of the 12 available deities. This is the main driver of replayability: combinations change, optimal strategies change, and no game is the same as the last. It's designed to stay fresh.
Is it available in Italian?
This is the English edition. The texts in the game are limited — the mechanics are primarily visual and spatial. The rulebook is in English, but the learning curve is low and a supporting translation is easily available.
