FroGames — Moments You'll Remember
The spaceship is silent. Then a noise in the corridor. You have twenty dice and no one to ask for help.
What it's about
A spaceship, twenty dice, no one to trust
20 Strong: Nemesis is the solo version of the famous space horror by Awaken Realms, re-engineered by Chip Theory Games into their 20 Strong system. A compact box, twenty dice, a spill-proof PVC card deck — and a spaceship to cross alive.
You explore rooms, activate generators and engines, trying to reach the escape pods. But the more time you spend, the more noise you make — and noise attracts intruders. Every dice roll is a decision: risk and make noise, or save resources knowing that sooner or later you'll have to face them.
This is the Core Box of 20 Strong: Nemesis: it contains the Nemesis deck and all the basic components of the system — general rulebook, 20 custom dice, magnetic tracker chip. With this box, you can also play future decks from the 20 Strong line.
Thirty minutes of pure tension. The 20 Strong system condenses the horror of Nemesis into a box that fits in your backpack.
The secret of 20 Strong: Nemesis in one line
You don't just roll and suffer — you decide how many dice to push, knowing that every risk can reanimate something in the next corridor.

A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
The tuck box opens on the table
You open the box, take out the dice, place the chip tracker on zero. Twenty dice in a row in front of you, the Nemesis deck shuffled, the secret objective in hand. Outside the window, it's night. Inside, the spaceship sleeps — for now.
The first room is empty. The second isn't.
You flip the first card — a corridor, no threat. You re-roll two dice to explore the next. The generator room. But there's a noise. Choose how many dice to push: the more you use, the more noise you make, the higher the chance something will respond.
The first intruder finds you
An enemy card appears. You have 8 dice left and a choice: fight now and deplete resources, or flee and leave the intruder behind — knowing it might return. The tracker shows 11. The magnetic chip suddenly feels heavy.
The escape pod is in sight
It's turn 17. You've activated the engines, dodged two intruders, saved two medkits. Three dice remain. The Queen awaits you at the pod. All or nothing — or you try a salvation card from the item pool. Your hand trembles, and it's not theatrics.
Victory, death, or that silence in between
It ends one of two ways — you're in the pod or you've become part of the spaceship. You put the dice back in the tuck box. Thirty minutes have passed. Tomorrow you try again with a different objective, and the spaceship won't be the same.
How to play
The flow of each turn
Four quick, repeating phases. You learn it in fifteen minutes, the first game is already alive.
Flip the top card of the Nemesis deck. Room, intruder, scenario. Read the challenge: how many successes are needed, what risks are involved, what you can gain.
Decide the dice pool to commit. The more you use, the higher the probabilities — but dice beyond your Recovery are exhausted until the end of the game.
Count your successes. If you have enough Strategy, you can re-roll failed dice. Use items and special abilities of the room you are in.
If you succeeded, take the reward. If not, suffer the damage. In both cases, the chip tracker advances — and the more noise you make, the more dangerous the spaceship becomes.
Why it's different from other solo games
Six things that make a difference
Everything in a tuck box
No game board, no scattered tokens, no mandatory expansions. A deck, twenty dice, a chip. Fits in your backpack, plays on a cafe table.
Pure push-your-luck
Every roll is an economic decision. More dice = higher probability of success, but spent dice don't return until the end of the game. The game thrives on this tension.
The noise pursues you
Unique narrative mechanic of the Nemesis deck: the longer you take, the more noise you make. Noise attracts intruders. There's no way to play slowly and safely.
Spill-proof PVC cards
No sleeves, no paranoia. Chip Theory cards survive spilled coffee and a thousand plays. Materials made to last.
One system, many universes
This is a Core Box: you learn the 20 Strong rules once and then you can add decks from different universes — Tainted Grail, Etherfields, Too Many Bones.
Thirty minutes, zero setup
The game sets up in two minutes and lasts thirty. Perfect for lunch break, before bed, waiting for someone who's late.
How it ends
One way to win, several ways to die
20 Strong: Nemesis gives you nothing for free. You only win if you complete your objective — and each game you have a different one, with different strategies to adopt.
Successful Escape
- Complete your secret objective (varies with each game)
- Activate the spaceship systems: generators, engines, pods
- Reach an escape pod before the noise becomes unbearable
End of the Line
- Your HP drops to zero from an intruder's attacks
- Run out of the deck without completing the objective
- The chip tracker reaches 20 before you reach the pod
20 Strong: Nemesis is the system that reinvented solo board games: essential rules, dense decisions, total portability.
Frequently asked questions
FAQ about 20 Strong: Nemesis
What distinguishes 20 Strong from other solo games?
Three things. The microscopic box with premium contents — PVC cards, custom dice, magnetic chip. The modular system: you learn the rules once and add decks from different universes. And the push-your-luck tension of the dice, which turns every turn into a true economic decision.
Do I need to know the original Nemesis game to play?
No. 20 Strong: Nemesis uses the Nemesis setting but is an independent game with completely different mechanics. If you've never played the original Awaken Realms, that's perfectly fine. If you do know it, you'll find the space horror atmosphere condensed into thirty minutes.
What exactly does this Core Box contain?
Everything you need to play: the Nemesis deck in PVC foil, the 20 custom dice of the 20 Strong system, the magnetic chip tracker with stand, the general rulebook, the Nemesis specific rulebook, the play reference and the tuck box. No other expansions or components are needed.
Is this a solo game only, or can multiple people play?
20 Strong is a system designed exclusively for solo play. It has no official multi-player mode. If you're looking for a compact and re-playable solo experience, it's perfect; if you want to play with company, the Nemesis board game by Awaken Realms is the right option.
Can other decks be added in the future?
Yes, and that's one of its strengths. The components of the Core Box (dice, chip, general rulebook) are compatible with all other 20 Strong decks: Tainted Grail, Etherfields, Too Many Bones, Hoplomachus, Solar Sentinels, and future ones. You buy the deck, you use the components you already have.
Is it available in Italian?
This is the English edition published by Chip Theory Games. The cards and rulebook are in English. The game is iconographic and the rules can be learned with little text, but a basic understanding of English is required to read the cards.
20 Strong: Nemesis is a solo board game for 1 player (ages 14+, duration 30-40 min). Designed by Josh J. Carlson for Chip Theory Games, in collaboration with Awaken Realms for the Nemesis setting. Main mechanic: dice management with push-your-luck and movement through a deck of PVC cards. The player explores the spaceship, activates systems, avoids intruders, and tries to reach an escape pod. This is the complete Core Box: it contains the Nemesis deck, 20 custom dice from the 20 Strong system, the magnetic chip tracker, general rulebook, and specific rulebook. Compatible with all future 20 Strong decks. English edition. Available on FroGames.it.
