The FroGames Card
Follow the stars, answer the questions, let the past reconnect with the future. And in the end, you all look at the same constellation with a question you didn't expect.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT
Questions that only arise under a starry sky
Sparks is inspired by the engaging, deep, and sometimes bizarre conversations that arise under a starry sky. Designed by George Li and published by Rabble in 2023, it is a game that uses cards to recreate those moments of authentic connection, wherever you are and with whomever you are.
In the first three rounds, you follow the stars by answering questions about the past, present, and future. Lunar Events add twists along the way. In the final round, a constellation is revealed with a final question to ponder. You don't win, you don't lose: you share.
What they say abroad
"We created Sparks to recreate those moments no matter where you are and who you're with."
We created Sparks to recreate those moments, wherever you are and with whomever you are.
— Rabble
A game made to lower defenses and let real conversations take shape. It's not a party game in the classic sense: it's a safe space where vulnerability becomes play.

Sparks
The cards that guide you
Four elements for a temporal journey
Past Cards
Questions about where you come from, how you grew up, your childhood. The beginning of conversation with partners, friends, family. The first star of the journey.
Present Cards
Questions about who you are today and what you believe today. They help to connect, build bonds, and spark authentic conversations. The heart of the journey.
Future Cards
Questions about hopes, dreams, aspirations. They deepen relationships and connect people. The last star before the revelation.
Constellations
The Past, Present, and Future cards have symbols that reveal a constellation (all 12 zodiac signs) with a final question for deeper conversations.

How to Play
The Flow of Each Round
Three thematic rounds plus a final revelation: the game guides without imposing.
In turn, each player draws a card from the active round's deck (Past, Present, or Future) and answers the question. There are no time limits, and no wrong answers.
Some cards are Lunar Events: they change the rules for that turn (everyone answers the same question, cards are swapped, etc.). They keep the pace lively and unpredictable.
Each card has a zodiac symbol. When the group completes the three rounds, the collected symbols form a specific constellation. You draw the corresponding constellation card.
The constellation reveals one last question for the entire group. Everyone answers, one at a time. This is the culminating moment: the question comes after the journey, and bridges everything that has been shared.
⏱️Your First GameThe chronicle, moment by moment▼
A game in five moments
What happens at the table
Not the rules. The experience.
The stars light up
Cards are distributed, the structure is explained. Someone makes a joke, someone wonders what they'll be asked. The atmosphere is light, curious. No one yet knows where the game will take them.
Past: where we were
The first question is about the past. Someone talks about childhood, someone about a place. The answers are still cautious, but something is already being discovered. An unexpected detail, a shared laugh.
Present: who we are now
The questions become more personal. Someone hesitates, then opens up. A Lunar Event changes the rhythm: perhaps everyone answers the same card, perhaps they swap questions. The conversation comes alive.
Future: where we are going
Future cards bring hopes, fears, aspirations. The table has warmed up: answers are longer, truer. Someone laughs, someone nods. Something is being built together.
The constellation reveals itself
The symbols on the cards form a constellation. The last, final question is drawn, and everyone answers. It's the most intense moment: the question comes after the journey, and hits differently. Silence, then words.
🐸What to know beforehandThree honest things, from friends▼
What to know beforehand
Three honest things
Requires emotional availability
It's not a party game with shouting or constant laughter. It works if players agree to lower their defenses. With a cynical or overly ironic group, the questions bounce off without sinking in. Mutual trust or a desire to build it is needed.
Time is flexible
The stated 45 minutes is an estimate. With an expansive group or questions that trigger long conversations, it can easily reach an hour and a half. There's no way to speed it up without breaking the experience.
Not for every night
It's a game for specific moments: intimate dinners, quiet evenings, group retreats. It doesn't compete with fast-paced or strategic games. If you're looking for adrenaline or competition, this isn't the right table.
🏆Victory and defeatWhat the ending rewards▼
How it ends
How to win and how to lose
Sparks is purely cooperative: there's no winner, only a shared goal.
Completion
- All players complete the three rounds (Past, Present, Future)
- The symbols on the cards reveal a specific constellation
- The group answers the constellation's last question together
Not foreseen
- There is no mechanical loss condition
- The game can only 'fail' if players don't open up
- Or if someone decides to stop before the end
What remains isn't a score. It's a conversation that continues even after the cards are put away.

Sparks FAQ
What mechanics does Sparks use?
The game is based on Connections, Cooperative Game, Events, and Storytelling mechanics. There's no resource management, no competition: just guided questions and shared narrative building through answers.
Does it work with two players or does it need a large group?
It works for 2 to 8 players. With two people (a couple, close friends) it becomes an intimate and deep experience, almost therapeutic. With 6-8 people it becomes a more dynamic group experience but with less time for each. The ideal number is 3-5.
Are the questions too personal or embarrassing?
The questions range from light to deeply personal. Each player chooses how much to open up: there is no obligation to answer intimately. If a question is too much, you can pass or answer more superficially. The game does not judge.
How long does a game really last?
The box says 45 minutes, but that's an optimistic estimate. With a group that enjoys conversations, expect 60-90 minutes. If someone is verbose or questions trigger discussions, it can extend even further. There's no way to time it without breaking the atmosphere.
Is it available in Italian?
The edition sold on FroGames is in English. The questions require a fluent understanding of the language to appreciate the nuances. Currently, there is no official Italian translation.
